11 November 2002

1 Year ago to this day I placed my £1000 deposit in good faith that I would be at the front of the queue (if not near) when the RX8's started turning up, what a farce!!!

I am sure there are many others in my situation and we could all get stuck in to a long moan and drag ourselves down, again, but instead I am looking for some positive vibes to help us through till our cars finally turn up.

To all of you lucky owners please offer some inspiration to help ease the wait?

Sure will!

Easily the most complete drivers car I've been in thats also an everyday car. Theres so much I can say thats positive... the cars absolutly awsome. handled the daily drive into work easily too. 6th gear in low 30's pootling around isnt a problem. Keeping my revs down at the moment, so only just touching the majic 5000k+ rpm...

I picked up my HI power, Tit Grey with leather and sat nav lunchtime yesterday (paid deposit in early Jan). Already done 400+ miles. can't stop driving it...... feels like silk. So, so much fun and had a load of attention from other drivers/ passers by. I have been waiting for this car 4ever and now it's here..... it's even better than expected.......It's worth the wait.......you're nearly there.

Hope I see you round and about then byrdd - where abouts in Swansea do you work and live? (sorry if I've asked this before!)

Did FRF throw anything in for free or do a deal on the accessories?

Had free mats and a small discount on accessories (5%) .... HAD QUITE A FEW OF THEM. Front, Side and rear dampers as well as rotary crest, strides and gear stick.

The car looks wicked and I am a happy man. I live in Sketty (new development by Saint Benedicts) and as an IT contractor I tend to work all over but currently at VW in Milton Keynes......car looks great in car park surrounded by TTs and A4s.......

I used to live in Sketty (Carnglas Road) and have lived in a couple of other areas in Swansea.

Do you commute to Mlton Keynes everyday or go up for the week?

Is the illuminated gear stick worth the extra money. And does it differ in any other (apart from being leather) way to the standard gear stick.

I lived in Mumbles and worked in Sketty for six months. I usually make a day trip to the beach at Langland in the summer. Didnt make it this year, but definately will next.

Cheers

When it arrives you will love it to bits mate.

If you've been following some of my posts you will notice I traded-in my one year old M3 coupe for the RX-8 and I much prefer the 8.

The styling is simply awesome and needs to be seen in the flesh, the quality of finish is superb, the engine is just amazing, the handling is excellent, the exhaust note is spot on, the Bose system is far better than the HK system fitted to BM's etc, etc. Need I go on!
