So I finally was able to take her out on the street with some of the guys in Risky devil....it was a good day, however I end up being so much more conservative with this than the S13. She feels really good though on the street... this pic is pretty dope.

You have any mods to your steering angle?

 

^^no nothing yet. I was thinking about changing out my rack though for the FD rack, but for this season I really don't think I'm gunna touch anything else on the car. I might also get some custom knuckles, but again...that'll probably next season

 

so the event was good....i didn't do as well as i hoped though. For some reason I just couldn't find my line for like the whole day. I had a couple good runs, but it wasn't as smooth as I would have hoped. I was runnin out of 2nd gear and at those moments it was like just before I would have thrown it into 3rd but kinda wouldn't have been worth it to just upshift for a split second. whatever, hopefully pics will be out soon though.

Question for RX8 tech's out there:The car also ran into some issues like after 2 hours into it. I started having idling issues. It would idle for a bit but then would like drop down to like 250rpm's and then shoot back up trying to save itself. Sometimes it would just die. The car felt good however when I was driving. Then after a few more runs with these idling issues, the car acted like it had a boost leak and would totally sputter if I tried to give it any gas. We kept looking for where the leak was but never found anything. Then when I was on the drive home, I could barely even touch the throttle or else it would just like loose all its revs, so I could only go like 55 tops on the highway. Then, WITHOUT WARNING.....it all of a sudden was fine. I could boost it and everything. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHATS WITH THAT?!!? Is there a eletronic shut down mode, or maybe my maf was fucked? maybe one of you rx8 veterans have a couple ideas. I'm gunna really go check it out tomorrow.

possible boost leak...i would recommend doing some data logs and post them up for us to see

 

when my old car overheated, it would barely move. and that **** happened a lot, especially during a hot track day. There were times after long times, when the car would randomly die too. and my **** was NA.

I still gotta check out the car...I've been so busy for the last like 2 weeks, especially on the weekends when Ive planned to clean a couple things up. Plus they have been redoing the street right infront of my driveway for like a full week! the driveway is downhill and there is like a full 2 inch drop onto the road right now, so it would probably **** the front end up when pulling it out.

Saw the toyota drifting a couple weeks ago in Shakopee. Very solid car and driver.

 

yeah thats keith. He's from minnesota. I've been drifting with him for that last 6 years! hahaha
