Fog Light Accents Recv'd & Installed (pics)
Hi there Dennis and others awaiting parts from DLS....Well, I finally got the long ago ordered pieces on Saturday. Sunday I took off the front bumber piece and began installation of those parts. They were the AC grille and OC grille w/ accents.
***Notes***
Excellent instructions. I had installed the clear corners as per Mazda instructions, but this went far beyond that and the instructions were much clearer.
Taking apart the bumper went fairly well as it was my first time removing any large panels from my 8. ( about an 3/4 hour) I had to get a shorty screwdriver since I decided against juacking up the car. The parts were easy to install and I was impressed to see existing fixment points in the body panel for many of the part's attachment points.
It was tough to line up the EXACT points as to where the OC grill should go due to the amount of protective padding placed on the outside....I will adjust as necessary in the future.
I did have problems fitting the 2 center plastic pins to hold on the AC grill, and replaced with 2 nylon ties. I chose to go with green ties instead of black....The ties are electric green and I will hopefully notice if they break....
I had a dent removed today as well....I was waiting (months) to remove the front end, so the guy could get into the front passenger quarter panel...seems the only way he could get at it. He was impressed with the look and quality of the front grills, as was I....coming from some dude in the midwest :p
Here are the photos....
