MIDPIPE
What: Corksport catted midpipe; 2 years/20,000km of use
Where: Montreal
How much: $200CDN + shipping.
Can deliver around Montreal/Laval/Ottawa.
It has a resonator and an Eastern EM 79000, 200cpi metallic catalytic converter.
I removed my corksport mid-pipe from the car to go back to stock, so it's up for sale. Pipe is in good shape, no complaints. Worked fine when removed from the car, visually everything checks out. Removed because I wasn't enjoying the exhaust smell and I'm cutting down on racing.
The exhaust is smellier than stock, less smelly than no cat at all and importantly, no check engine light.
With the stock muffler and with the MS muffler the exhaust has a nice aggressive tone and a slight off-throttle gurgle. No rasp. Definitely louder than the stock exhaust, slight drone, but you can still carry a conversation with your passengers. I should have taken a recording before removing it :/
Pictures:
Front face of the cat. So it appears coiled up in the center, but as far as I can tell, that's how it was made. I don't see how it could have been coiled differently in the same space.
Resonator. Note, there appears to be a loose bit of something running around inside the resonator baffle. Suspect flash from a weld or a rivet that has come loose.
The bumps in the middle appear to be as designed.
Thanks for looking!
