hey, sorry to hi-jack your thread (once again, lol) I'm wondering if anyone knows of the fitment of authentic mazdaspeed bumpers? I am looking at purchasing another rx-8 with the MS bumper already on, but there is about a half-inch (slightly less) GAP between the hood and the bumper, where it joins. is this normal? if anyone has seen a RX7 FD3S LHD with a '99 Spec JDM bumper without a rebar, that's kind of what it looks like.

ya youre talking about my buddys car. There isnt supposed to be a gap there but if you buy the car and dont want the bumper i will GLADLY take it off your hands. I wanted his bumper cause hes selling the car but apparently you wont buy the car without the bumper but let me know. And no worries about the thread jack

 

That is not normal! I have mine for over 2yrs and I'm cracked it with some hard track time, got it repaired and its still fits like a glove...

 

Honestly i never thought anything of it. Me and my cousin put it on ourselves maybe that was the issue. Looks fine to me not a noticable gap at all.

 

simple question... if it has the black plastic piece at the top of the centre mesh then it's real but there's something wrong with it. Otherwise it's like 90% of the other knock off's and it's fake.

 

Not sure why Mazdaspeed don't put their logo/sticker on the inside of the bumper anymore. The FD3S and FC3S and MX-5 Mazdaspeed parts used to have all kinds of Mazdaspeed sticker/logo on them to show they are authentic easier.....

Here is a silver one, with some slight damage. It comes with the right side block off plate for Mazdaspeed single oil cooler set up.

The box will be like a fridge or coffin size, so I assuming around $400 or so for shipping. But don't quote me.

Shipping a bumper from iapan will cost you way more than $300-400, try double or triple that. Plus custom. My suggestion is get it here in North American

 

ya i dont think i will buy one from japan... shipping will be a B*&^ like mc8jai said.

Im going to try sourcing one in NA if not i have a few other bumpers i have in mind.

 

^ I recently helped my other RX-7 club member imported an FD3S front bumper, and shipping was around $450 CAD, custom tax is around $55 (well, I asked the Japanese to mark the value super low, like 6,000 yen).
