Let me get it straight, you want to buy a set of rims and winter tires off a bunch of Canadians in the winter time?? Sorry to make fun but I don't think that many people who are driving their 8's in the winter are going to be selling their wheels. You could try looking in the "for sale" section. I saw a lot of postings for 18" stock rims and one or two for winter tires (all from separate people of course and in USD). Actually, awhile back I seem to remember a guy from Montreal (?) selling his FDR rims and Toyo's (I think) ... I'm too lazy to look for you, so do a search.

Better yet, look on some of the recent threads for ideas. There have been a couple recently on Winter Tires/Rims ... complete with prices, sizes and where they got them. Good luck!

I did look in the sale threads but I think that shipping four large size rims and tires will cost more than buying them locally. I didnt know that every canadian that bought a car keeps it forever. I didnt expect much but you never know if someone has sold their car and wants to get rid of the extras.

sure people sell their cars ... but don't forget our 8's take only a certain bolt pattern, offset, etc ... so sure there maybe that Honda Civic or whatever with extra rims but will they fit? I don't know and I'd rather not risk it.

If you are in Calgary, you can try the beyond.ca forums ...it's a Calgary general automotive forum where I think you'd get more hits (they're at least in Canada).

You know that the RX8 has only be out 1+ year, there are not that many people who have sold their cars yet.

You mention wanting to buy locally, but don't specify what is local to you. Maybe stating that would help a bit.
