I recently purchased a mazda mx-3 1993 and it failed the safety because they said it was an aftermarket exhaust and it would cost $300 for the original exhaust. I would have to do this in order to get my safety.

Does anyone know someone who does safeties it passed the emissions

Nope, it shouldn't have any problems or relevants to safety unless there is something unsafe about it. Maybe with emission tests, but an aftermarket exhaust in itself does not consitute grounds for being unsafe. I've never heard of anyone having issues getting a vehicle safetied with an aftermarket exhaust, ever.

 

That's kind of weird, where did you do your safety & emission test?

 

I went to another shop and passed the safety. My first manual car still getting used to it.
