That 8 has been abused as a dealer demo for about two years now, I've seen it on 4 lots, but it is always being used by staff. It has been missing the undertray for almost a year. I told the guy at the used car dealership (manning and 42/ across from the pioneer) that it's missing and important, and he told me to mind my own business. I laughed at him and politely told him to f himself.

 

Yeesh... you tell 'em Chad.. lol...I noticed the undertray on mine is missing a few screws.. anyone know where i can pick those up from? Btw... the 8 is at the dealer today getting the mounts replaced... wish me luck!

 

Get some clips while you are at the dealership if they have some, or you can get some similar ones at partsource. Just take one off and bring it in to compare sizes.
Good luck with the mounts! keep the old ones and sell them to me for a beer!!!!! I'd like to mod them.

 

Just got the car back from the dealer... man... the thing runs smoother than a Kenny G song... lol... they shaved my brake rotors for me too... looks like they re-attached the undertray as well...unfortunately.. they either kept or threw away the old mounts Chad... maybe for warranty proof purposes or something... Sorry dude... guess the beer will have to wait..

Chad did I see you wanted some old mounts to try a mod or two? What are you doing to them? I have the one I replaced ( passenger side) I was going to keep it to try filling with urethane - but I am unlikely to ever do that. Would you like that one? I always have great plans - I still have '95 firebird parts in the garage... it was sold 5 years ago!

Yeah, I was hoping to do that. Thought it would be fun to do when I am bored, but lately I am arms deep in work around my house. Pulled the motor from my integra yesterday and finishing up the motor that is it's replacement. Working on the 8 here and there and everywhere. I finally pulled the old mowag pos out of the Austin 1100, and I am changing out the ignition on my GS500. My "time off" haha. I think I'll paint up those rotors for you tomorrow night when I am painting some other things. I also have a plate relocator, I believe I heard you said you'd like to get. It's drenched in pork fat but not rusty.

 

Sounds good - yepper that plate relocater would be sweet as well.
Why do we collect so many cars? I just bought another due to the Jeep Liberty dying- in the Firestone shop in the Intensive Care Unit - now replaced by a Wrangler. Good thin the RX* has such good gas economy to balance those two off! (sarcasm)

Hey guys, I'm only 15 years old... so I can't drive my 8 yet... but I was wondering if anyone knows of an honest Rotary Mechanic, that can safety my 8. Also, my stock side skirt is rusting at the very bottom, does anybody know about a side skirt that I can use that covers all the rust that I will grind down? Thanks.

 

I'll leave the first part to someone else.
If the part is rusting, it's made of metal and is likely a rocker panel. Just covering it up with a skirt isn't a good idea. It will continue to rust and get worse. Get it fixed right. Does you school have an auto mechanics department? Maybe you can get them to do the body work. Warning, there is usually more rust damage than can be seen from the outside.
