Windsor anyone ???

I'd also be interested in finding someone who knows what they're doing with a rotary engine... need to get my motor mounts done cause it vibrates at idle... dealership I bought it at is giving me a hard time... even though I have a 30 day powertrain warranty with them...
haha, I'm warantyless also. Is there something wrong with your car? With there being more and more 8 owners in the Windsor area, diagnosis and help fixing problems should become fixing/mod meets. I would like to host a mod meet someday in april, my car is getting enough done to it and would like to share the experience and knowledge with other enthusiasts. I've got a laundry list of things to do.
I just got a pair from RX8Performance - came in this morning - looks good and strong enough for an Abrams M1. Not mounted yet, but will be within a week or so. Significant discount for Rx8club members, too!
HiFlite, You will have to let me know how it goes. I've been eyeing those for a while.
I was messing with the throttle body today and setting up my battery in the trunk. The air pump is coming out in a month or so also.

new JDM swag.

Out of hibernation
I took advantage of the great weather and a few spare minutes this morning to reinstall my battery and take my 8 out of the garage and to work.

It cranked for a long time in a sickly way before firing (yes, I had Stabil in). Then the DSC OFF light was flashing and the skidding car light was on. After a few km's the DSC OFF light went out but the other one stayed on.
Oh and my key fob battery is dead. Maybe I'll save that one until the mod meet (that is about the level of my mechanical expertise and budget).
Anyway, I'd almost forgotten how truly bitchin' (and loud) this car is.

After you pull the battery out, you have to do the traction control reset. It should be in the owner's manual, but I think you turn the iginition key on and turn the wheel all the clockwise and then all the way counter clockwise. That should make the light go out.
Anyone wanna get together for a weekend... I'll supply beer and pizza.. you supply engine hoist and labour... lol
Mounts
I am always open to watching and giving advice.
I did my right hand mount over the winter. Although I didn't time it - it was certainly more like 3 hours. Of course I had not done that before and had to use 3-4 different socket handles to get at the awkward nuts. With no leverage, you what to take it slow on an 8yr old frozen nut.
SO deduct 2 hours for looking for tools, dropped parts, lunch, phone interruptions... my next time will take about 30 minutes.

Tecshinka, was that the one for sale on Riverside drive?.......so purdy.
Twelve zero, you don't need a hoist, you just need a jack under the engine. I would need to do this when it's still on jack stands for my car.

Yeah, I'll do it myself - as soon as I get the ^&(*&% header on. Dunno anything about NVH on these mounts though - hope to give a report in a week or two.
Update on the situation with the engine mounts. Service manager at the dealer finally called me back today and agreed to replace the engine mounts under the 30-day warranty period. Guess he spoke to the mazda dealership and they had another 8 in their shop last week with the same problem. Frankly.. I'm just happy to have all that vibrating gone... sounds like I'm harbouring a jackhammer under the hood whenever I'm stopped at red lights...

Just an FYI, the 1st Detroit Cars, Coffee, & Karts is this Saturday March 31st at Kart2Kart in Sterling Heights. It runs from 8:30am-12pm roughly. All kinds of cool cars show up and you can also have some fun on Kart2Kart's awesome go-kart track.
Here's a link to the Facebook Group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/333991937331/ and Kart2Kart is located at:

Sterling Heights, MI 48314
I hope to be there and I think it would be cool if some other 8's made it.
