You can get 5W20 at some Canadian Tire stores, but I have noticed that not all of them stock it (at least not the Castrol GTX that I buy.)

this is in Vancouver, BC. Maybe it was that specific CTC or Superstore. Well I'll keep an eye out.

Has anyone ever seen 5W20 at Costco? All they ever seem to have is 5W30, albeit for super cheap.

Hey Delhi,

I know at least the Canadian Tire in Richmond on No.3 Road and Capstan Way has it, and it's Castrol GTX. Go check it out, I just bought 2 bottles last week.

I saw it once at Costco, but a few weeks later it was gone. I don't think they carry it as regular stock yet.

Superstore does not stock it, I buy mine at Crappy Tire. The ones I go to only stock Quaker State, not Castrol.. hmm...

I bet if you ask at the automotive counter, they will bring it in for you... especially if you say you'll take the whole case (not that you'll need it all, but it helps if they think it wont sell..)

You don't have to use 5W20. 5W30 is just as good if not better.

apparently 5w20 is better for emissions.

maybe it's thinner = better gas mileage = better emissions?

Anyone know if Formula Shell oil is any good? I personally like Shell gas, but I don't know if their oil is good as well. Of course Castrol seems to be what everyone's using anyways.

So far I've only topped up with Mazda dealer oil, but I saw Shell on sale before for like $2 a bottle so was wondering if that's worth trying. They have 5W-20 grade.
