wait finally OVER

I've been patiently hanging out in this forum, waiting to become next OFFICIAL rx8 owner. After switching dealerships, and placing my new order in December, and she's already here. Actually, she came in last friday. I wanted to give the dealership a few days to install my accessories spoiler, side and rear deflectors, air dam, front and rear crests and rust proofing. But since that time it's been snowing EVERYDAY GRRRR and I couldn't pick her up. Needless to say, I blew my budget on the accessories and didn't want to buy the winter wheels this season. I felt if I didn't get the accessories right away, I might be too lazy to get'em later. Luckily for me, I have a beater to drive til the spring, then I can buy the wheels next winter.

Weather looks promising for tomorrow, so she's going to be mine, all mine.

She's silver, got a moon roof, and a bunch of nice accessories.

Am I getting too excited? problably, but do you blame me

Grats on the 8... but I really have to caution you on driving in cold weather with the OEM tires. On snow or ice, forget it. Don't want to smash up your baby!

Getting the accessories up front is smart because they come with a 3 yr warranty if installed by the dealer

Thanks, I was quite excited. I live in Richmond Hill, but the dealership I bought it in was in Hamilton (about 1.5 hours). Today was the best day weatherwise to pick up the car since it arrived over a week ago... and O barely escaped the dealership before snow flakes started to fall. I've already heard the horror stories with the stock tires, and I did not want to experience it.

She's safely parked in the garage now... wheww. I must say, this is the best car EVER.

Congrats. I'm in the tri-city area and have mine sitting in the garage till the spring. I only drove it ~ 3k kms before I had to park it for the winter. Looking forward to the big thaw. Will you be driving it on "nice" days?

Thanks for hooking my up Mybad. I have you to thank for this

I just feel a little guilty, that I ended up getting mine before you got yours. But really I shouldn't

No need to post pics as everyone here already knows what a silver 8 with all the goodies looks like.

Congrats CrackerJax. Nice to hear your experience with Mountain Mazda was a good one as well. Are you putting it away until spring or are you going to try to drive it on nice days?

The day i got her home, i left it outside while there was still light out... just so the neighbours could get a glimpse :D There was only 1 ok kind of day where I was able to take her out for a short spin... but that was it. I have another car to drive this year, but next winter, my 8 is going to get equiped with the right wheels/tires then I'll be drive her all year round.

So you aren't driving it in the winter (this winter anyways) CrackerJax. Cool. I'll be storing mine in my garage when I get it after a good under car detailing and wash and wax...

BTW: I pick mine up on Sat! :D

Nice MyBad, I thought you weren't getting yours til around March. Hope the weather cooperates for you.. if you didn't get the wheels. Now that I think about the whole situation, I wonder what my hurry was to get the car :p Right now, it's like a museum exhibit in my garage :D I want to charge then neighbours to take pictures with it.

Was the Mountain Mazda location close to you, or did you go there cuz you were able to get what you wanted from them sooner? I went based on your recomendation, and was very pleased.

I went there because they gave me the best price/service.
It's kinda far as I'm in Oshawa, and the dealer's in Hamilton, but it's worth the drive.

It came earlier then I wanted it, but I'd rather have it in my garage then sitting at the dealer or getting it too late. It just means I'll have to detail the car when it gets home, no biggie.

Hey guys,

My car is in too! Silver GT, 6 sp, with moonroof, spoiler and mud guards for now. Actually came in to the dealership on Jan 20 and I went to see it last weekend. Beauty.:D I was almost drooling.

Unfortunately, it's still there because I could not pick it up that day, I won't have time to return until next week and the weather will have to co-operate! I've got a 150 km drive home, so I'm not going to take any risks on snowy or slippery roads. They've gratiously offered to keep it in their back storage (away from running kids and sharp objects) until I can pick it up. It will be parked at home for the rest of the winter anyway as I only plan to get rims and snow tires next fall...

So, yes, it's going to be a showcase item for me as well for the next little while. Let's hope the winter is not too long.:p

Rotarx-8, I feel your pain, the waiting, and then after taking delivery, not being able to drive it in the snow yet.
