Cool Vancouver, BC area 8's...

My wife and I are heading up to Vancouver this next week for our quarterly visit. We will be in town from Tuesday evening the 16th through Friday morning the 19th. Trying to get a few people together to meet. Is anyone interested?

Hell yeah, I have no work on wednesday and thursday, would love to meet up with another fan of the 8.
I've seen a few around, but never met a person who is driving them. Let me know which area of van you will be in, and I will see what I can do

We will be in downtown around Hornby and Helmcken. It would be nice to get a few people together so we can chat about the cars. Maybe take the 8s on a trip through Stanley Park or something. Anyone else interested just pipe in.

Come on guys, anybody else in Vancouver areas... ie Richmond, Surrey, North Van, Burnaby etc... etc.... up for doing a run downtown and through Stanley park?
how often we gonna get a good chance to get as many 8's as possible in one place at once... unless we can make it a regular thing

hey y'all!! thanks for the heads up 93rd!

yes, i certainly would love to have a reason to meet up and share some good times with you guys.

uh, as everyone knows, i don't have an 8 to bring, but it'd still be good to put a name and face to avatars and sign in id's.

any of those dates sounds great to me. let's get some more formalized plans happenin', and pick a place to have a pint afterward

btw, PM'd you my home #

for me, Wednesday would be the best, any time of day.
I will pm you my cel after im done this post, hell, if your in the forum and dont have an 8, well, come out anyways, would be cool.

I was a little shocked by a guy I met the other day, he parked his black 8 close to mine, then went to look at mine, so I asked him if the black was his, he said yup, so I asked him how he liked it, and all he could say was "the gas mileage sucks".
All I could say to him was "It doesnt bother me, I love the car" and he just said back "It's ok, but the gas mileage sucks"
I just didnt know what to say, it was kinda sad, I felt sorry for the car. But maybe he is just not happy at that moment, I hope he realizes how nice the car is, and starts to appreciate it.

Wednesday sounds good to me. I won't be able to post or read any threads after monday. I will be in town on tuesday evening. Stanley park seems like a good meeting place. I will leave it up to you guys what time and where to meet in the park since we are on a mini-vacation and don't have an agenda (besides getting together with members of the forum of course). I will call on wednesday morning to confirm the plans and make sure nothing changes. See you all soon.

Oh yeah, 93rd Current is interesting. There was a philosopher/agnostic who around the turn of the century had what he called a revelation. He believed that information was passed to us via something similar to radio waves. He was convinced that he was receiving messages via the 93rd Current. What can I say the world can be a strange place .

hmm... where in stanley park...

definitely a parking lot, why don't we just pick one of the lookout spots (like the tiny lighthouse thinger, or that one near the Lion's Gate that has the Salmon Grill restaruant) at a designated time?? it doesn't matter to me at all, i just need to know when and where

Is the Salmon Grill that nice restaraunt that was closed the last time I was at Stanley Park for a wedding? If so that sounds nice we can all go in for some eats. If we need to make reservations I will have to leave it up to you all. Now as for a time? Oh and if someone could post the actual adress so I can play with my navi.

That sounds good and judging by the times they are closed between 4-5 pm. So if we met around 3:30 pm we could all get together, drive around, chat and get ready for an early dinner. That way Rotary Titus can make it. Someone better bring a digital camara so we can post pics on the forum.

And by the way isn't this St. Patrick's Day? If the traditions in BC are similar to the states there should be plenty of green beer around...

yyyyyya, we were chillin' out at this place called The Fish House (gettin' there takes a bit of doing...) and even i :o was late... yes, i was.

anyways, we rocked the house (boy oh boy, waitresses can be, i hate to say this, funny... no, not funny ha ha, funny ":-S") and 93rd even graciously let me drive his car... :o which i then stalled a grand total of 5 times, IIRC... an embarrassing outing for me. but anyways, still awesome. and again, i'm sorry Tim. :o

so pictures should be following soon :D (Inconsequential has them)

and i will apologize, i need to get photoshop, or send tem to wakeech and let him post them, but this was my first time using this camera at night, and it turned out to be a little unfocused, shoulda set it to landscape, the fronts are in focus, then the rest gets blurry, hehe, but next time, we will get daytime pics which are always nicer

Hey, anybody out there from Vancouver areas looking into starting an RX8 club out here? I know we have lots out here, ive seen them, but dunno how many on here, wakeech had an idea, that we may just have to start sticking cards advertising this site to get you all to look it up and check these forums, but i figure you are probably already here, so, watta ya say? anybody else like this idea?
