Shipping problems...U.S. -> Canada

Has anyone had something shipped from the US to Canada sometime in the last, say 6 months, and it hasn't arrived yet?

I bought an electric shaver off some guy on Ebay (whom I've purchased from before and who has a lot of positive reviews) sometime in August and it still hasn't arrived.

I looked into it...way into it...made tons of phone calls: USPS, Canada Customs, Canada Post. I'm an idiot and didn't buy insurance so I had little recourse, but all my research lead to a problem with Canada Customs backlog, see: http://canadaonline.about.com/od/pos...ailbacklog.htm

Well, my latest purchase from the US is some strakes and F/R rotary accents from DLS Customs (formerly RX8Fun). It's been about a month now since they've apparently been shipped out and still nothing.

This is extremely annoying. How can a crucial national service be so pathetic? Who can I complain to? PM Martin? Has anyone else experienced these problems?

My strakes took a bit of time to get to me also....just under 2 weeks. Nor sure why because at work we are constantly shipping things back and forth and don't usually have a problem.

I also heard the tail end of a conversation oin my office about new shipping rules. If your package comes on a truck there are only certain times of the day inwhich it is allowed to cross the border. previously it didn't matter when so you had more shippments happening at night.

Yeah, the people that have ordered the RXTuner magazines have been having problems all year. See thread. There is more detail here about canada customs.

Hmmm ... I think it's a combo between the strike and holiday season. Hope those strakes and accents get to you soon, cuz I'm thinking of ordering some too!
