Seriously considering turbo...
Please someone talk me out of it!
I know it's just a phase I'm going through, right?
Scared to death of turbo but the allure of a bit more juice is very appealing.
Everyone "in the know" tells me I won't blow up my engine but should I really believe that? What about over powering my transmission or diff?
What say you? Help me with some perspective...

Honestly Scott, I would talk with mysql. Things to consider, you have both the Mazsport Ignition Mod and the Cobb, and you just dynoed at 204 HP.
Now your adding a BHR Turbo Kit (assuming your going with this), what are the ball park figures for HP on this?
I feel that you might want to shell out the little extra for the Mazsport upgraded trasmission upgrade as a fail safe.
I stopped reading much into the Mazsport Ignition Mod, but arent there also dwell settings that you would have to be concerned about?
Other than that, if you want real power, turbo is the way. But with turbo, more things are likely to break, and you always gotta make sure everything is tight and working prime.

15k was broken down into:
cost of gauges
cost of turbo kit
cost of ecu flash / ap / piggyback
cost of engine upgrades
cost of exhaust upgrades
cost of new core (just in case)

To me it depends on how long you plan on keeping the car for. If i remember correctly you purchased it slightly used. Judging from the mods you have already and if you buy the turbo, im pretty sure youre getting up there with the money you spent in the car.
If you are going to drive it into the ground, than i would say go for it. Having the additional ponies definately doesnt hurt. With a conservative tune, im sure you will have years of worry free driving. However we all know that going FI does put additional stress on stock components its a risk, you just have to be prepared to shell out the money to fix things if they break pre maturely.
I have several close friends with turbo'd honda's and they have no problem in the winter.

talk to owners who HAVE the kits installed
What is your goal?
how much horsepower are you looking for? how about passing smog? what are laws in your area? You should be looking into all of these aspects.

Guys (and girls) without going into the engine, replacing the apex seals with ceramic etc (cost about $1300.00 per rotor) you cant run any big boost number without blowing it up. You might 20-40 rwhp at best, which makes your cost per horsepower a huge investment. Superchargers take 20% power off the bottom to make power higher up, usually not a good combination with a torque-less engine. Internal porting and mods will be your best bang for the buck, and not hurt longevity!

Goal is to increase HP to about 280 -300 (at 204 now) and torque to 200+ without negatively impacting reliability. Also, I must be able to pass emission laws because I don't know who I need to bribe
