Spotted a beautiful galaxy grey mica on the way home from work today, and noticed an RX8Club.com sticker on the side. Thought I'd pop in here to see if I could track them down (always good to know a fellow rotorhead nearby) - but from the recently posted picture, and the fact that we live in the same neighbourhood (Pottruff RD here) I think it might have been J-MON . Car looks great dude!

I guess lot has changed since I last posted here. I am now a proud owner of an 06 BB with about 94,000km. Will be attending the meet in Toronto next month, but if you guys are ever getting together in Hamilton, just let me know!

Thumbs up Driving back with kops energized my soul !

Hey kops !

Yeah that was me and man that drive home that day brought a big grin to my heart and soul.

One correction: I drive an 04' Tig (Titanium Grey) not a Galaxy Grey Mica. Thanks for saying my car looks great as I was drooling at your the whole time. Those black rims on your clean 06' are a spectacular combination. And you are close to me as I'm up on Hildegard (top of Quigley near Greenhill).

Side note: I only have 68,000 km on my car and the engine (replaced by Mazda 1 & 1/2 years ago) only has 10,000 km on her and she's running aces .

I really should go to the meet in T.O. next month. Can you u remind us when & where ?

The meet is Sunday June 1st, more details here https://www.rx8club.com/canada-forum...2014-a-252118/ . It will be my first time attending something like this but how can you go wrong with lots of rotary?

Thanks for the compliments, this is my first summer (if you can call it that) with the car, so it's still new to me. The previous owner took great care .

I just happened to glance in the rearview at one point and notice an rx8 the mirror...i still get that feeling when I see another one :D. I'm often let down by other 8 owners who think of it as just another car, so I am glad to see that there are other rx8's being taken care of around here.

Were you at one point looking to sell your 8? I feel like I've seen it online before...maybe it was just around this site, 68k and a new engine, sounds like a baby still!

If you decide to head to the Toronto, or if a group wants to get together around here anytime, just let me know!

The specific one I was referring to was J-MON, fairly certain as I couldn't mistake those rims and the RX8club.com logo on the window. Did you happen to see me? I'm out in that area all the time.

I have came across a few others though, including a turbo FC a few weeks ago on Nash that was pretty sweet. Turbo + Rotary is one amazing sounding car.

Hamilton Meet for late Summer 2014

Time: 9pm
Date: July 22nd, 2012

Click here for Google Maps Link.

I will try and find a spot close to the RBC or Tim Hortons. Somewhere empty with lots of space for us. I will be in Velocity Red rx8 and i will be very hard to miss.

Please post here if you are attending and PM me with your cell number is possible, it will be much easier to organize meets if i am able to text you. See you all this Sunday.

This is only going to be a Rx8club meet with maybe 1-3 NOFR members showing up.

Thanks.
Any interest in the Hamilton/Burlington area meet before Labour Day? Would the Paramount Dr location still be a good site?

I'm out of town from the 23rd until Labour Day. If I can squeeze it in between getting things ready for vacation then I certainly will, thats only 5 mins from my place.

Would be really interested in seeing any intake/midpipe/exhaust combos anyone might have

As the GTA RXgroup has set Sep 28 as the Fall end of season meet/cruise, perhaps a local meet on Sep 7 would fit well. So how about:
When: Sunday Sep 7 (noon)
Where: parking lot near Tim's and Royal
1795 Stone Church Rd E, StoneyCreek
http://goo.gl/maps/gNY7J

Well it looks as if the main GTARX8 club has changed the date of the fall closing meet back to Sep 7 (was Sep 7, then 28, now back to 7). So if this stands, I will be attending the 400/hwy 7 meet.

Does the lack of action in this thread mean the Stone Church meet is off or on?

Although I originally suggested it, I can no longer make the 7th at Stone Church, but it doesn't mean its cancelled - but I did not see a lot of takers on the thread.

The GTA RX8 guys re-re-sheduled their Fall end of season meet back to the 7th out at 400 & Hwy 7 (Boston Pizza parking lot). It was originally on the 7th and I committed, but then it was moved to the 28th. So it was then I suggested the 7th for a Hamilton local meet. However, they moved it back to the 7th. the rest of my September is rather booked, but perhaps we could plan a Friday night meet.

I don't know what the turn out for the 7th in Hamilton will be but there's a risk the main meet may draw some away. Hope this helps and sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the clarification. It wasn't so much confusion as a lack of information since so few had declared their intentions. The problem have with the meet in Vaughn is that I have a rather odd work schedule and, as a result, am unable to commit to a meet that far away except on short notice. I am in the equipment supply chain for a large road construction company with multiple job sites across Ontario, so the Hamilton one is easier as I would still be within easy driving distance should my phone go off calling me in for an emergency.

I guess the best plan is to set in a couple of DVD movie to watch and just take a drive early and see if anyone shows. If not, I can always return home and watch the DVD's.

When: Sunday Sep 28 (noon)
Where: parking lot near Tim's and RBC Royal Bank 1795 Stone Church Rd E, StoneyCreek

If I can get away I just might show up Sunday at noon, if you don't mind an older (young at heart) lady dropping by.
I was in the west end out near McMaster last Monday and passed by a blue Rx8. We were both trying to use the center left turn lane, but traveling in opposite directions.

Yes please come out - it's a great day (not sure how of these we'll have left this year) and age isn't an issue. I'm 58 next month but my wife says I act like a 10 year old around my 8!

An added bonus today is the return of the Lancaster bomber from its Great Briton trip. The WW2 bomber is only 1 of 2 the world still flying and is due back at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum around noon today, maybe with a fighter escort. The meet location isn't far from the Hamilton airport and the CWHM. We might see it.

Hey Gang!
I am located in hamilton as well (waterdown)......

I did read some previous posts about starting a golf tournament.....well that is my area of expertise...Dave is the name and golf is my game, lol

I am head golf professional at Dragon's Fire Golf Club in Carlisle Ontario....

If we can get enough interest to start a tourney i can make it happen...and at the best price to all of my fellow rx-8 club members...

I would even throw in some free lessons for my fellow Zoom Zoomers!!

i may start a new thread if i get some interest....

Cheers!

For those watching this thread, be aware of the newer posts and events that will be in the "Central West Ontario Zone" thread. I'll look at setting up a spring meet in that thread.

I'm always in for a round, have been playing nearly my whole life...but maybe some pointers on my lefty fade wouldn't hurt .

Have only heard great things about Dragon's Fire - would love to get out for a round in the summer time!
