Rx8 Sightings Thread
#251
I am The One!
phrozenhandlez,
Didn't mean anything negative towards it... I was just seeing the page count, that's all...
And no, I don't own an RX-8. I own what you see in my avatar. That's actually my car.
Not to be negative or anything, but alot of RX-8 owners are "stuck up". You can wave and signal them to death, but they won't give you the light of day. And they all think they're the man! lol
That doesn't happen with RX-7 owners. Our cars are a dieing breed! So when one of us signal each other we make sure we wave back or give them the pop up lights! :D
Doesn't matter... Carry on with the sightings...

Neo, sorry if my post sounded negative aswell, but you know how it works: New car=excitment, and excitment=getting stuck up about your car....
yea, a lot of owners are kind of stuck up, but dont worry; in a year or so, this thread will be gone!

Car looked great! I ordered mine last Monday and picking it up in a couple of days, I was try to make a choice between Winning Blue and Sunlight Silver, I chose Sunlight Silver but everytime I see the blue I question my choice. It's too late anyways, my tint is on the car already!
BTW, I'm not stuck up and will wave at all RX-8 owners that I come across, it might be one of you guys one day!

Saw a lightning yellow on the road today, he was southbound on Oak and I was east bound on 41st stopped at light. First yellow one I've seen driving I think.
Neo:
Of the 8 owners I've spotted, the one I did manage to make eye contact with did wave back. The others, well, I don't think they even see me.

"Stuck -up RX-8 drivers"
I suppose there are enthusiasts, car snobs and 'drivers'.. I was 'schooled' from an early age by my brother who drove an MG-B to acknowledge almost any 'sports car' ( it was the late '50's, early '60's; they were rare, and with few exceptions, most in the Toronto area were MG's, Healeys, Triumphs and Jaguars and many belonged to the local chapter of BEMC-The British Empire Motor Club). It was a true 'fraternity'. Yet, even so, a Jaguar owner might not deign to wave to a lowly MG.. Snobbery? .. Yes, indeed. And Porsches! Ha! They only waved at fellow Porsches..Silly, but true.
Sure, it is a little disappointing for a friendly wave to go unacknowledged, but I can understand if the owner/driver is unaware of this 'custom' /'courtesy', is in a hurry/distracted etc. or, simply not as enthusiastically 'over the top' with his/her 8 as I am.
I found it to be the same when I drove my Miata for five years.
Just my thoughts.

While in Vancouver area for a couple of days (vacation) I have notived at least two rx8 several times; One black, two Ti grey; one silver, and two blues. It is kind of interesting in seeing so many of 8 in BC since here where I live you can barely see one or two per month.

Saw a black with sun roof and a custom plate driving home on the 404 between Sheppard and Finich at 6:00pm. He was on the far right lane and I was in the passing lane, unfortuantly he couldn't see me, as I was stuck behind a ton of traffic. This is the first time I've seen an 8 on my drive home. Anyone here?

Hmm no updates in a while, well here's one for Toronto...
I saw three on Saturday, a silver going east bound on the 407 (I was going west)
A blue going north on Erin Mills.
And a red going east on Steeles just past the 400.
all in the afternoon from around 1:30 - 3:30 pm
well now I' getting worried are the 8's getting too common

Well, I was at Costco in the Heartland Centre and spotted a Red. No extras that I could see. I didn't get to see the owner, they were still there when I left. Wednesday, Oct 18th.

It was a blue day..two.. one on Thickson South Whitby (Scarborough Mazda on the plate surround-looked stock -female driving. ..oblivious to my wave); the other on Leslie Street Toronto, south of Finch. I gave the second a 'V' and I think he returned it.
