RX8 build up
I'm working with Modified Mag on Project RX-8, I'm building and porting a new engine for it. Not sure if any of you have been following it but Dave Pratte (Project RX-8 owner) took his car to Mazda and had a compression test done, it just barely passed the minimum specs.
The car put down 170whp

I have a hunch the OP engine is a hurting unit.

I have followed that build and I have been thru two previous motors myself and a couple of dyno runs are definitley a good way to determine if an engine is on it's way out so long as it has been maintained properly and is not something else.
I never understood the idea of modding before making sure the engine is running properly in stock form first.
