Great day indeed.

Just to correct GoesLikeSting, there was a turbocharged 8 (not supercharged), and a few automatics.

There were also FIVE 06 Special Editions, lol.

It was a great experience to go on Mosport, but I think the day is too short, just when everyone is getting comfortable with the track and started to up the pace, it was time to go.

But there's always next time.

They is another date for the 8th October (thanksgiving)
If you have a license you can go..just contact TRAC Racing.
I was suppose to go but my season end this WK with my Baby coming in 2 week:O) (it's a boy).

Agreed it was a fantastic day.

On a side note I will set up an FTP for everyone to send their pics and video's to when I get a chance. I am sure Melanie will pass the info around to all the participants so we get all the pics and videos.

The specialist that was pointing out the rotary was Danny Manning. Danny and the rotary go way back! He's the man to consult if you're going to do something radical to your engine. Very good guy!

Lots of special editions showed up.

Can't believe I missed such a great event....

I hope there's another one before the season comes to an end.

I could have gone had I known. My 07 8 is only three weeks old. Oh well, I am definitely on board for the next one. Looks like it was a great event! Kudos to UD and Mazda for putting it on.

I would so love to see this happen. Unfortunately I think hell has a better chance of freezing over then this does of taking place this year. Companies are cutting back like crazy.. and I don't really see how this could bring in money for Mazda over the short term... I mean.. you would create a more loyal (rabid?) fan base.. but other then that...

no pulley.....too much work for something cosmetic only.

Ahh, just found this thread now... that was one amazing day at the track!!!! I'm the center front car in the group picture!!!

 

This sounds like an event that Mazda did 2 years ago for RX8 owners. You had better check and make sure someone didnt misread an old post etc. The track time was extremely limited very controlled. I will find out on Monday if this is a new event or not.

 

Al, It's an old event, happened in the fall of 2007.

 

I am interested, but a Monday may be a problem.

Will there be another event like this, my wife is itching to push her car and I keep telling her about track days. We are in Innisfil Ontario (by Barrie Ontario)

 

There's a May 10th Event at Mosport this year, perfect way for her to spend Mother's Day.
