Before I start hounding the dealer again, did anyone get their front floor mats replaced or a retaining pin installed in order to secure them in place. When I picked up the car in July they acknowledged there was a problem and a fix was in the works but I have heard nothing since.

 

Yes, I got mine replaced in August or September.

 

The mats I got had the hole for the pin but the pin was missing. I called my dealer and he personally brought a pin to my home. I installed it myself in a minute or two. It's just one screw which is a bit awkward to get to underneath the driver's seat.

 

I bugged my dealer and mazda canada every week from August till October, they finally came in the day I brought my car back..... isn't THAT interesting.

 

My car was delivered (in July) with the pin in the trunk and a driver's floor mat where the hole was offset. At the first service, I had them install the pin and order the replacement mat - at first, they weren't aware of there being a problem with the early Canadian drivers mat, but they did find some sort of bulletin and had the replacement with the properly-located hole within a week.
