It's been a few months any word from the jury on the RP supercat?

My cat looks like it's dying (p0420) and I'm out of warranty (100K). $500 sounds better then $1100. Question is, will it last? I'm pretty sure PA only does the odb2 check, so I'm not worried about passing emissions.

My 2nd RP failed last month in under 10k. (Probably closer to 5-7k)

so i guess if you want to pass emissions and not have to spend $500 every 5k to 10k miles the only option is to get the OEM cat? If that's the case I will try to buy a used OEM with low miles.

+1 I bought the rx7store highflow cat a while back. They use the Davesport cat in combination with their midpipe. I haven't had any issues with it yet. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I found the Davesport cat back in 2006 while searching for things. Swoope put it on his car and hasn't had any problems with it to date.

After doing my research I decided to add a little back to the community. Here is a thread that has a compiled list of all cats and cat included midpipes

Check this out:
http://www.modified.com/projectcars/...ing/index.html

It's a bit more work and cost than one specific to the RX-8 but it may also be more robust and no power loss is a great benefit. I still have the OEM cat but have been looking for the best all around replacement.
