Regular meets and dedication of other car clubs
My friend has an RSX, he showed me what his club does:

we should get participation like that!
on the side: Hey Warren, their meets are 3/4 times in the EAST END
LOL

Nothing against a weekly parking lot meet but, How about we organize an a seasonal driving school/lapping day restricted to rotaries only. The cost would be about 250 per car with top personal instructors included for the day.
Choice of Shannonville or DDT (Mosport). If there is enough interest we can book a date for next year.
The true nature of our cars cannot be explored in the either congested/broken or straight North American roads.
On second thought forget it, the parking lot it is.

weekly meets are hard as well, as the 8 isn't a very popular car, i have to admit...
we won't get like 10 car every single week..
you guys are struggling to get 10 once in a month or 2.
But if it works out like the trix, mz3, rsx meets.
that would be awsome!
You can't really compare real sports cars to FWD coupes.
The demograph is different. Not to mention it makes having a meet too mundane.
Having a good get together every 2-4 weeks is good enough.
We can do some meets where we can play pool, or go bowling, or some other event that'll spark some interest.
Standing around in a frozen parking lot is fine for ricers. Not for people with real sports cars!

I think it's the demographics too... a lot of RSX'ers are between 16 --> 30. Whereas the RX-8 touches a more older group, and as we all know the older people have wives/kids/responsibilities etc... no time to meet up like the yougner people have time.
Lol...the track idea would be nice...but i'm sure it won't work out as you liked to!

A day on the track with a good instructor is worth much more then any kind of mod.
I don't think the problem is demographics. It's priorities. Most people here just aren't interested in coming out. It's too cold, there's a sports game on, I'm going to see a movie, it's raining.
I'd agree with this...Mon-Fri work gets in the way of seeing the friends...So the weekends (when the meets are scheduled) and Friday nights, I make plans to go out with my friends.

I like to meet up with "the usuals" over the winter but I understand if the rest of you think it's too cold.

I will talk to some instructors about the logistics.
After that we will gauge interest here, maybe Neo (I think he owns a 7) can do the same at the rx7club. If we get enough people (probably around 25) we can set a date for next year.
Cheers
