On that day, there were still half the name tags on the table unclaimed.

I was surprised even after that Mazda decided to make it even bigger this year. SO many people complained and bitched to Mazda about how there's no support for enthusiast from the manufacturerer that Mazda said okay we'll sponsor and do this event for people to come. Then people no show.

It's bad that only maybe 30 people showed up last year (combined 8, 7, 6, 3, mx-5 clubs)... WHAT'S WORSE is people WHO SAY THEY GO AND SIGN UP BUT THEN NEVER SHOW UP AFTERWARDS!!! It just makes the whole RX8club look bad to Mazda.

Where's the integrity of people nowadays?
I was very impressed by the effort of Mazda this year to take care of loyal Mazda owners at the Grand Prix of Mosport. Thank you to all who organized this event!

Also, the upgrades to the track by the new ownership are much appreciated; Mosport looks like it is being restored to its rightful place as one of the best tracks in North America.

One track area lacking upgrades was turn 5... Hard to understand why one of the best views of the track had the least upgrades. Why not have a big screen inside turn 5 and a large grandstand wrapping the entire hairpin? Some walkable paths to get there and some parking out behind would be great additions.

Nothing attracts fans like a great product does; Especially when that great product has free admission and VIP treatment.

Well done Mosport and well done Mazda!

It was also great to meet so many Mazda owners from GTA and all over

The 1st thing they had to upgrade was the ability to get vehicles in and out of the track which was a multi-million dollar undertaking! They did an amazing job of that, then they had to get a place to put everyone. They are busy building a proper control tower on the outside of turn 10. I am sure they will work their way around the track over the next few years. The investment is staggering compared to what has been done in the past and I am sure it will continue!

Indeed was a great time! I really should be social but I don't know anyone in the Rx-8 club and was there with my friends, so didn't feel comfortable saying hi since no one really knows me so I'm just floating in the shadows of the club, especially being there without the Rx-8 and not being around for the meets and events through the season.

Might be a bit early but does anyone know if this will be related for the 2013 ALMS Mosport GP w/e? I have been a Mosport fan and spectator for years, but I haven't attended a paddock. Does one express interest on a Mazda website or through the RX8 club to get involved?

I will check with my Mazda contacts to see if this is being planned again for this year. Wouldn't be surprised if it was, they were happy with the turnout last year. And Mid-O is a beautiful track, very spectator friendly, and only a 7-8 hour drive from the GTA.
