Question about tinting
Hey all;
Just a quick question about tinting. I was looking at getting the tint that has the silver finish at the bottom part. I've heard that there are some legality issues with this tint...anyone know anything about that and can maybe elaborate?
Also, does anyone know a good tinter in the GTA that wont break the bank? I checked out Tint King on the Queensway but the dude working there looked like a 60 year old pimp, all decked out with a gold Adidas track suit, gold rimmed sunglasses and like 3 teeth.

I have seen a copy of a York Regional Police offences book and I quote:
window obstructed---fine $110.00
drive with coated window-view obstructed---fine $110.00
color coating obsuring interior---fine $110.00
no clear view to sides--fine $110.00
Any one of the charges apply to window tinting if the officer feels his or your safety is in question, and they are hard to beat in court if the officer appears.

Don't do it! Please don't do it.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Gradient tinting is the stupidest thing you can do to a car, besides spinners. Actually I think even the ricer crowd laughs at gradient tinting.

Is gradient tinting the tint with the silver finish? Am I the only one who thinks it'll look awesome against the black paint? Not into spinners either...they're gay.

Because of the black piece between the front and rear window, the gradient will make the car look a little awkward from the side (similar to the effect you get from removing the tape covering that piece). I'd really suggest sticking with solid black. Looks much more clean. I will admit, though, I was thinking of going the same way with mine. Kinda glad I didn't now, though.

MrJynx, you might want to ask your dealer where they get tint jobs done...chances are they use a shop that does a good job.
But black on black would look sweet - you should definitely do it! 6-8%

I do remember that the front three windows aren't allowed to have anything at all on them.

I gotta pick up my car tonight from the dealer so I'll ask them of a good place for the brampton/GTA area. Tech was careless and left a massive oil stain on my leather seat last time I had the car in, which I discovered after ruining two pairs of pants
MrJynx
EDIT: hey just a quick questions.. is $55 a little much for removing a stripped screw?? just wondering, does anyone else find that a little off? (and this is the reduced price!)

Various local car groups might be able to tell you what is or isn't allowed in terms of tint. The distinctions are definitely provincial, and the enforcement is a local thing.
$55 is just about on-par for dealership minor work. The shop rates are the killer!

Once you've found a good shop, spend the extra money for the good tint. The type that doesn;t fade or turn blue.
