I thought it was 18 everywhere except Ontario. I remember back in the mid 90's when I to Toronto for university (I was 18) and was shocked that I had to wait another year to "legally" start drinking! Doh!

yeah, its been like that as long as i know. we used to go over to the other side of the river to drink or get our booze when we were under age here.

theres one place just outside of montreal, they have this little club (used to be called 'Le Saint') 75% of the people in the bar were americans. they would drive the hour or so north from new york state to go partying. good times

ahhh yes. I used to work for Breakaway Tours as a Bus captain. What is that you ask? basically, a bunch of 18 year olds take a bus, I ride with them as a rep for the company, tell them some safety stuff, make sure everyone makes it to quebec, then party with them. All the while getting paid, it was awesome. 18 year old boobies are perky :D

Alberta's drinking age is definitely 18. Calgary Stampede starts in 3 weeks - come on up!

The drinking ages in Canada alternate by province (oddly enough)

BC - 19
Alberta - 18
Saskatchewan - 19
Manitoba - 18
Ontario - 19
Quebec - 18
All Atlantic Provinces - 19

I was in a Jazz festival in Ottawa when I was 16. Our band already had a rep for trashing hotels so we couldn't stay at the Château like the other bands. WEe stayed across the bridge in Hull....Good move!

When they asked if we were old enough to drink...we said no....so they gave us a paper bag to cover it up.....very cool!

Rotten if you really want to go camping with me, just ask (I will politely decline but at least you'll feel better for trying)...

Stop beating around the bush (pun intended)! :p

In Quebec, the drinking age is just a suggestion!

Especially with the big party for St. Jean d'Baptiste Day coming up right away. The summer I spent there showed me that for this day the drinking age is simply "you can drink from whatever bottle you can hold on to".

Chris...

Talking

What's also important is that in Quebec, unlike Ontario, you can buy booze in all corner stores and groceries, even on Sunday. It's the best, you never run out.

That's why I cottage/camp in Quebec. :D

Man all this talk about drinking in quebec, makes me want to hit a bar tonight. You should know that in Montreal french girls are really slutty, and high school girls aren't illegal. All you have to worry about is your moral barometer.
