Purchased new 8, Velocity Red, 6-MT!
Just wanted to share my delight after going through these forums for the past month or so (recommended by my Mazda dealer no less!) I just purchased (actually leased) a new GT, Red last weekend!
Now the suspense and waiting hopefully wont' kill me cause I'mm waiting until mid april to pick it up. I could potentially get it earlier but don't want to go through the hassle of snow tires this early in it's life.
P.S. I was one of those few guys (mid 30's, married and 2 kids) that was looking at an Auto because the wife refused to drive stick....until the FAST AND THE FURIOUS was on local cable a while a go and I hounded, and hounded, and rationalized the hell out of it and she finally gave and and agreed "we" could get a 6spd. I then went to the dealership and after having a really good test drive with the Auto (I had a late 20's sales guy that was open to let me drive it like it should be) I would have not forgiven myself if I go it. The MT makes it a totally different car. The control, exilaration of the 6 speed is nothing like the auto.
So..for those looking at an auto that don't really have to.....test drive the stick...you won't be disappointed!
Cheers.

Ordered it from Ajax Mazda and got about $1500 off MSRP. You've got to play hard ball a little if you're not taking one off the lot. I have mine scheduled for mid-April delivery...don't want to deal with snow tires at this point.
Talk to Mark (young guy) if you want a good test drive and a salesman that's not pushy.
It was one of the most enjoyable car buying I've done in years.
