Petro-Canada touchless car wash locations in central/north GTA

Hello guys,

I recently switched to Petro-Canada from ESSO. I noticed all the Petro-Canada wash stations I've seen are touch-type with those awful rails on the driver side. Not all ESSO stations are touchless, but I've found more that are and have yet to find a Petro-Canada one that is.

Do you guys know of any Petro-Can wash stations that are fully touchless? Please let me know where they are because not only I do not want those thick dirty brushes slapping against my car, I also don't want any rails scrapping my fat rims and mess up the alignment.

However, I do enjoy Petro-Can's 48-hour re-wash weather protection and their season pass.

Thanks.

The Glide Autowash is PetroCanada's best...(or supposed to be their best) by Hwy 7 and Kennedy, you can choose between soft cloth or touchless, and it also doesn't have any rails; instead you get a huge big belt for your entire car. You can go to PetroCanada's website to check for other locations that have the car wash, but it won't say where the touchless AND railless ones are.

Hwy 7 and Red Maple Drive. Formerly a Sunoco touchless/railless car wash. But as we know Sunoco stations changed to Petro Canada after they merged, so the car wash setup carried over to the new station.

I've used both... I found the Sunoco one still superior though.

I just used the Petro Touchless car wash last week for the very first time. Its the one on dufferin langstaff.. A bit north of langstaff. However it was the rail type which scared the **** out of me cause they have a huge mirror to make sure your front wheel gets on but the whole time I was on there I was scared shitless that my rear wheel wasn't on or maybe it was on the actuall railling on the side !!!

But next time I think ill go to another Petro canada near my house which are the ones you drive thru.

I tried the touchless rail one cause that's the station I get my ultra 94 from so I figured why not. But the preto nesar my house doesn't have 94 . At least I dontt think so lol$

I went through a rail-type wash station at the Petro-Can on Bathurst/Steels (the one with the A&W, I love A&W), and my whole car was vibrating from the bottom during the wash process. Scared the crap out of me.

Seems like the better Petro-Can wash stations, the Glide, are all up north?

By the way, there's a self-serve car wash that is 24hrs and has a blow dryer near Vic Park and O'Connor. It is now my favorite self-serve place. I had never seen one with a blow dryer before, it works really well with drying your car and blow the dust out of your cabin.

Sorry what's the "Glide" one?? Isn't the glide the rail ones ??

But yeaa **** the rail ones. They can ruins your rims, allignment, and not to mention if you have wide wheels they're not going to fit. Not that many people run wide wheels in the winter anyway lol.

That looks very car friendly.

Also do you guys think the soap used at the touchless washes are abrasive enough to remove wax or paint sealant (zaino to be more specific) ?

Your wax is gone after going through one of those sandblaster. That's why I don't take my car through the automatic wash during the winter months.

My rims are scratched to hell from using those rail type car wash. I did try that rail-less place on Hwy 7 and Red Maple Drive once, it is pretty cool. In theory you can drive anything into the bay for a wash. Oscar Meyer weiner mobile, dirt bikes, personal submarines, etc.

I'm sure footman and I will beg to differ. We've scrubbed our cars with detergent and hosed it down with those pressure washers numerous times and the wax we had applied still stayed on and beaded water pretty damn well. But i guess it really depends on how many layers of wax you have on there, and yes i'm sure some wax does come off with those pressure washers, so after a few more times, then maybe

Alright, so I went to one of these "Glide" car wash stations on Kennedy/HWY7. Terrible. Whoever says it is good has never seen a modern automatic car wash before. Aside from the conveyor and the fancy camera and monitor, the washing mechanism is no different than any other 80's systems else where. Actually, it is worse than the worst ESSO wash I've been to. I understand these automatic ones never dry the car completely, but not one panel was remotely dry.

You can choose whether to go with touchless or with brush. I chose touchless, it felt like the water was coughed on by a 80 year old man with asthma. The car was not dried; auto car wash never fully dries, but this was way worse than anything I've experienced. Upon drying the car with a towel, I noticed the car was still very dirty, as evident by the dirt on the towel.

An example of what I think is a decent automatic wash station is the ESSO on Davenport/Dupont. It's a brand new system just installed last year. Give it a try if you are in the area. It is a satellite location a bit south of the actual pumps.

Whats special about it footman??? There is a new petro that replaced a sunoco and that was the one with the belt. Im never using that one again. I go to this other new petro formerly a sunoco station and those are the touchless drive thru ones. Where you drive in, put it in neutral or park then wait. And then drive out.

I found that those are the best because they clean the rear very well compared to the belt ones.
