Is it just for looks or does it protect the engine from dirt, etc?
I was having a *bad* day, topped up my oil and left the f'n thing in the Crappy Tire parking lot. F&$#!
Dealer wants $200 to replace it. Thx.

you don't "need" it. You'll be fine without the cover

If you really want one, add a "Favourite Search" watch to my.ebay.ca and have it e-mail you when someone put one on E-Bay. They usually go for around $50-60 used.
Personally I think it's quite useless. On or off, doesn't really matter.

I have it off, just cause I like being able to see the huge rotary engine that powers this toque monster . Actually like how clean the engine bay looks with it off, and I have the cover in my basement as decoration :P.
