Damn.. lots happened on this cruise.
I wanted to come, but once I saw the rain, I focused on getting the house we've moved into sorted out.
Sorry Footman.

Sucks to hear someone got hit in the cruise. Thankfully it wasn't such a big hit. Still sucks though.

I've met most of the guys here in person. I seriously doubt any of you guys would intentionally do any of each other harm. I understand we'll disagree on a few things sometimes. But there's no real need for pointing the finger and "he said, she said" scenarios.

Scottish,
You've done alot for everyone in the club. You're the go 2 guy when anything crops up. So I understand how Footman's comments would've come across as insulting. Hell, just reading it, I would be insulted a bit as well.

Footman,
You gotta ease up on the responses. You plan some good cruises, and there's no way you can control the actions of everyone on the cruise.. just not going to happen.
Regardless, I hope you keep on planning cruises because you do a very thorough job of it.

The 7 club has run into the same type of scenarios you guys have run into regarding cruises, keeping it on the track and long cruises such as Deals Gap.

It's hard for everyone to "take it to the track" because in their eyes why would anyone spend $300-400 for 1 day in a controlled environment when they can have "equal amount of fun" on public roads regardless of the day...
It's a little strange thinking, but none the less, there are people who think like this.

I hope there are more cruises planned because that's what a club does. They go out and enjoy their cars.
I also hope we can have some more track days.

Lately I haven't had the opportunity to get out there and participate more. Life tends to get in the way. I'm hoping to make the next big cruise.

Rotary-RX8 07-12-2012 03:15 PM

Neo 07-12-2012 03:22 PM

Damn... 33 (turning 34 in Sept) is considered old?!?! :P

I can't imagine what you guys must think of RXreckless... lol ;)

Have we met officially G_man? In my old age, memory is starting to go... :)

Rotary-RX8 07-12-2012 03:55 PM

LOOL to me its old since im only in my 20s.

RxXreckless is ancient :P :)

G_ man 07-12-2012 04:25 PM

Yes Neo we've met, you let me sit in your car at mosport last month
when you and Scottish came out for a drive. I do understand about the memory thing
at almost 50 I some times can't remember what I did yesterday.
And just incase you forgot your steering wheel is on the other side of the car.ahahahahahaha!!!

Neo 07-12-2012 04:35 PM

Ahhh, you're confusing me with RXreckless... :)
He's the "ancient" guy (ala rotary RX-8) with the RHD FD.
Poor thing received major paint damage when he took it down to Deals Gap.
But he tells us this just makes the car that much closer to being a dedicated race car. ;)

If you're going to the ALMS weekend for the parade lap, I'll make sure to introduce myself.

Rotary-RX8,

RXreckless would prefer to be called "Moses"... Ancient sounds so definitive... lol ;)

G_ man 07-12-2012 04:44 PM

Sorry dude, thought I had the name and face right.
And are you talking about the July 19 weekend at mosport

rx8-druggist 07-12-2012 04:45 PM

Just to reiterate what Neo said - Footman and Scottish - you have both done a lot for the club. Both of you have been very welcoming of me personally when I was a newbie (scottish took me out in his car the very first time I was pissing my pants at the track in shannonville - footman got me integrated into the group at my first meet) - and I'm sure many others here feel the same way. I hope you guys can get past this as you're both instrumental to this group.

It's unfortunate an incident occurred - I'd be pissed if something had happened to me - and I'm well aware it looks badly on the club as a whole. I probably sound like my dad now when he used to lecture me as a teenager but everyone needs to ease up on the road. I'm not going to finger point or name names - but if we want to avoid nonsense like this in the future - really think about what you're doing. Excitement might overcome you, and that's fine, but make smart decisions. Public roads are not designed for what you might perceive it to be made for - if you want to drive like its Forza/Gran Turisimo come out to the track with any one of us and we'd be glad to take you for a spin and slowly ease you into the track environment. It's the best for you, your beloved car and everyone else around you.

Nonetheless... everyone is on the same team here so let's try not to take things too personally.
