Off topic: Driving Time between Ottawa - Sudbury
Ok this sounds like a silly question, but it's 450Km approx from Ottawa to Sudbury. According to Map Quest it is an 8 hour 40 minute drive???
I suspect it will take between 4-5 hours.
Is MapQuest a little wacked out here?

Usually that trip takes around 4 hours.
Never driven to Ottawa from Sudbury, but I guess it would take around 4.5 to 5 hours???
When I did the run it used to take about 6 - 8 hours due to having to go through the small towns were the limit drops to 50. Now-a-days it is much faster as they have bypasses to most of the towns and you stay at 90 - 100. 4 -5 hours sounds about right.

Umm, doesn't that mean you were doing like 160 km/h the whole way, which is nearly impossible on highway 69...well, maybe if you were in an RX-8

but it was Christmas Day, no snow and nary a car on the road. Otherwise with traffic yes it would take a lot longer.
Gas stop in North Bay? I did the trip (I'm now in Winnipeg) I did about 105Km/h (no tickets for me please). About 5 hours to Sudbury, gas stop in Sudbury with 1/2 a tank left
Either your tank wasn't full or you have a gas hog
Filled up in Sudbury, Wawa, Thunder Bay then Kenora. To get to Winnipeg in 24 hrs..... tiring!

I've got a 3 year old. I used the term "gas" loosely rather than writing a "pee and food" break.
My wife's fully loaded Volvo can make the trip to Kirkland Lake (2.5 hrs north of North Bay, 600 km total trip) on one tank when the little one used to sleep the whole way. In fact, my FD used to be able to make the trip on one tank as well, but was obviously not during the few 4-4.5 hr blasts it made on some of the overnight trips...

It usually takes me about 4.5-5 hours since there's always either construction or traffic.
I've done it in 4.5 (that's to Val Caron from downtown Ottawa -- so probably 4 to Sudbury itself) on an overnight drive without any traffic -- in the 8 anyways.
I find it takes me longer if I am not driving the 8
