No 8yr/160,000kms powertrain warranty?

I just called Mazda NA this morning to check the warranty status of my car via VIN and they told me I only had a 5yr/100,000kms powertrain warranty which is now expired... I mentioned the extended RX-8 warranty but the only thing she could tell me was what showed up on her computer screen. They told me to call a dealer for more information.

What gives?

(car is a 2004 GT with 65,000kms. not sure if bought in 2003 or 2004 thus reason to know if 8 year warranty still exists)

Powertrain warranty is 5yr/100,000km

Rotary engine core warranty (everything internal from the rotor housing and including the rotor housing themselves, and all seals) is 8yr/160,000km.

The two types of warranties are not the same.

This is explained clearly on www.mazda.ca

You can read for more info.

also the clutch pedal assembly has been added to the 8yr/160k and your catalytic converter is covered for 8yrs government coverage.
