Renting, or going to a Harley demo ride even at a local Harley dealership is the way to go before you buy.
My husband also rides - has a Heritage Softail - so when people see both bikes in the garage, they know the Harley is his! However, most people assume the car is his too - definitely not - though I do let him drive it every now and then! Funny, I have yet to ride his Harley - hardly seems fair....

As a funny aside, there is a radio station here in Ottawa that runs a "Toys for Boys" contest every year where they give away $100,000.00 of prizes to one person. This year the prizes include among other things, an RX8 GT and a Vstar 650 custom motorcycle - these are my toys - definitely not just toys for boys!!
