Hello, I just purchased a rx8 from a bankruptcy sale a month ago.
$4000 2005 GT 132,000km and a Borla cat back

Ten minutes after turning the car off for the first time, it wouldnt start.
My heart sank... Came to this site and researched my *** off.
Found many threads pertaining to my issue and made an appointment for a compression test. The dealer called and said the engine failed the compression test and the info was sent to Mazda Canada.
Results: Rotor 1 = 6.7, 6.9, 6.9 Rotor 2 = 7.2, 7.2, 7.2

I was kinda nervous at this point, even though I'm pretty sure $4000 was a good price for the car.

2 days later the dealer called and told me that Mazda had approved my engine replacement!!! I have never won a lottery, but, I feel like just did!

While it was in the shop I had them replace the Plugs, Coils, wires, mounts, belts, clutch.

1700 Km into the break in period (premixing withe amsoil) , small fluctuation in idle but it starts up quick while hot.
I'll clean the maf sensor and tb this weekend, hopefully that'll cure it.
Any other suggestions?

Hopefully I can show up to this meet on the 3rd of june. It's fathers day.... So, Im not sure.

^ Did they ask for ALL the previous receipts for when you got your new engine ??

Cause my engine has low compression but i only have the receipts for ever since ive owned the car. I dont have the previous owners receipts.
