It doubles as ANTI-RAPE too because a rapist won't be able to rip the clothing off of you!

 

Al, please remember what you said before - my car is a STREET car. Those extra "drag" won't mean shxt to me. Those OEM super aerodynamic tested bodkit is just another dead weight on the street. I still remember you run down that Mazdaspeed Rx8 with my stock Rx8...

I mod it to look "cool" according to me. Someone don't agree and its fine. However, I am not a poser. A poser is someone who try to act like he got "it" and be cocky. I am not. I know my CF is for comestic only and I love it.

All you folks are just jealous of my CF...I will show you more of it this season I promise you lolz - alright maybe I am a fanboi ha

 

I understand about being unique. But when the manufacturer didn't make any body panels for the RX-8 in Carbon Fibre, it just sceams "poser" or "ricer".
I know, I know. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And everyone is allowed to modify their car as they see fit. IMO it seems to poser like.

My 2cents.....

I think the 2 tone is too flashy...and will attract much unwanted attention.... personally I liked to be kept out of the spot light...

I agreed with the CF overlay.... if you don't like it later on..then take it off... my frd's shop actually does the overlay and it looks half decent. But mind you if it rains... the water doesn't slide off well....

At the end of the day...your the one who'll look at it the most so I would go with any design that makes you want to look at your car over and over again....lolz

I see...so anything not OEM is rice and poser. I guess SpeedSource carbon fiber Rx8 body are all rice too! Yup non OEM parts. rice and poser.

I guess the hating game will never stop. You can say "I appreciate the effort even though I don't agree with the styling." but noooo, you have to say "a ricer or a poser". That really pisses me off.

To me its the "OEM ****" coming out of the closet. I am done with this topic anyway.

Thumper, its nice to do two tone if you love it, however I do concur with 2hit6 - just beware of unwanted attention from cops. Thats my opinion as you asked in this thread.

josh, hate to point this out. but you cant use the speedsource car to hide behind. if you were rockin' a 400 + hp 3 rotor, sequential 6 speed, reily chassis, full CF rx8 then obviously poser or rice wouldnt be words in anyones vocabulary. but thats not what you are driving. you like your mods. thats enough isnt it? no need to be so defensive or to drag speedsource into this.

 

Greg I really like your character...you help forum members, pretty knowledgeable in cars and rotary engine yet humble and is a great guy to hang out with.

I am just tired of getting cheap shots whenever I made a reference to CF. I use the example to point out the flaw and absurdity in the post stating that one should be "OEM and OEM only" otherwise its a "ricer" and "poser". But I had enough. I will refrained from getting emo about this from the internetz no more and thanks for your kind words.

Afterall, as long as its safe for the road and won't endanger other road users, I can do it legally and its all good.

I actually see that 2 tone RX-8 at the parking lot of Best Buy in Heartland.
I like the overall effect of the 2 tone. The wheels that guy uses is a different matter. lol

As for the original thread, I like the black on blue. Especially that last pic of the front end. Looks really good.

we all know josh will defend carbon fibre to no end... so cut him some slack... haha... tho having once tailed his stormy blue during the evening, i found the color to be quite unique and totally awesome... so my 2 cents... please don't cf the whole darn thing... lol

anyway... back to topic at hand... don't think the 2 tone black and blue would be too flashy... it actually blends quite well... more visible in the daytime when the sun shines on it i guess... go for it!!!

 

Thanks all for your input, thoughts, pics and ideas. This wasn't supposed to be a CF debate. We all like what we like and in the end it's our cars and we will do what we want.

9krpmrx8 - thx for the extra pics. As some ppl have mentioned it is not played at all here, and I'm looking for something that looks good, gives it a bit extra without going crazy or over the top. Thunder has the nicest WB around our area, with the full MS kit++ and when mines finally done it would be the same, except different rims. I want my own sick look sorta speak. And it's not spending a lot of money since my whole car is getting repainted because of hail damage.
I should have been more clear, hard time finding blue 2 tone. Truth be told I forgot it was called that lol. I don't like the other one's you posted, fav is this one. The lines are done right.


Thunder - Hell ya!! That's the idea, what's gonna look good. Thx for the idea of the wrap, but don't think it would overall look as good as paint, clear coated and polished up nice. Wouldn't give the same shine/look to it. Think it would also cost more and if I do like it, then I'm fuked for painting it. But good idea thx!
And ya what is the alternative??? Crazy decals, 3 tone, CF etc, that I'm not a huge fan of.

Greg - Agree on the first yellow one (2nd yellow one too ewww) it's a CF hood that isn't working by the looks of it. Agree with you completely on the VR one, what I saw before and had in mind. It has to accent the lines of the car/hood and run into the A pillar/roof properly to look good. Think I am agreeing with you on the trunk as well. Thx for the input grasshopper!

What do you guys think about leaving the V on the hood B same as the side, or paint it black to match the hood?

Thumper... I can't remember exactly, but I think there was a WB RX-8 done up in the LeMans livery sometime ago. It had black and slight silver finish to it on top of the WB paint.
It was done really tastful! But I think it'll be too much "race" car for what you're looking for...

Here they are. Just invert the silver to black, and you'll have a pretty nice livery on the car. In memory of the 787b!

 

So I taught myself photoshop over the weekend. I used this car, as it has the same wheels as mine and mine in the end will pretty much look like this, except I'm going MS wing.

Again - no CF talk haha...and I haven't decided 100%, looking for IYO without bashing others. I'm gonna make one more with trunk black and wing blue.

I like the whole upper part black. Which includes the rear trunk and wing. I really like it. Makes the car look like it's got a solid black racing stripe down the middle.

 

i think the black on top will look wicked. I never saw an 8 on the road with it,
I always see it on the internet. But i dont kno about the stripes depends where u put it
but hey man go for it!
