dude...i just got set on fire...

 

^story

 

Background story: I'm polynesian and there's something called the fire knife dance and basically it's a short double sided blade that's wrapped in cloth and lit on fire. point is to spin and demonstrate some fighting moves while both sides are on fire...it's been a tradition in my family and passed on for years...

story: so my nephew had a gig today and i was in charge of putting on the fire knives when my nephew threw them off - my brother was supposed to catch it and hand it to me and help me put them out with our safety towel...well - plan went well when he handed me the first knife...but when i went to put out my side i noticed he didn't put out his side...he was too busy giving my nephew the double blades...so............now that the other side wasn't put out...i went into a panic and tried to cover the other side of the blade that was on fire - but it was too late...the safety blanket was set on fire and i tried putting it out - but since the blades are SOAKED in gas the gas from the knives shot up and landed on my arm...then the fire caught my arm...then shot up my arm setting me on fire...i paniced again and my brother saw so he came back to help - then i heard someone from the crowd shout "OMG FIRE!!" i paniced because i thought they saw me so i took the towel and ran up the side of the house where no one could see me to put out the flame - i pulled it off and put my arms out - i went back up front to see the rest of the show...

the funniest part of the story is that...the person that shouted "OMG FIRE" wasn't talking about me! apparently the knives my nephew was spinning wasn't properly tended to...they had too much gas on them...which landed on his chest and sides - causing him to be slightly set on fire...he played if off though and pretended to do a slap dance warrior type of thing...people in the crowd cheered and thought it was part of the show....lol

best part though was my other little nephew that was inside watching both his cousin and me on fire at the same time...lol- he said: "**** YES...THIS IS WHY I CAME HERE TODAY..."

dozer is LIT up like a Xmas tree and cant go to sleep.... Poor Dozer. Im going to sleep I have lots of projects tomorrow. Like hunting down my tv monitors for the back for my Playstattion...and I got to work tomorrow,,,OT BABY~
