My first speed trap!

Believe it or not gents, today I encountered my first speed trap in the 8.

I was exiting Bloor/Bayview via Southbound DVP and didn't see the cop until everyone else had braked. Speed limit is 50, and I was doing 88. Lucky thing was that the right curve that I had to make made me end up being behind a Golf, and I don't think the cop was able to tag me properly. I didn't get a signal to pull over or any sirens or anything so I'm feeling soooooooooooooooo lucky!

Your lucky. The same situation happened on my bike, but the truck in front of me was speeding too and the cop pins it on me. When i ask to see his radar gun, the speed on the gun was almost 10mph less than what i was traveling at. But i couldnt argue that so i had to take the ticket.

You should see the speed trap they have set up here.... the speed limit on a DIVIDED highway goes from 100km/h down to 50km/h on a down hill, slight right turn (about 1km or more from the "end" of the highway... it's still perfectly safe to go 100km/h because it becomes a flat straight stretch for quite a while before you come to a stoplight.

But there is a little nook on the corner that is perfect for motorcycle cops to sit there and tag you JUST as the speed limit changes.... they flag as many cars over as possible (which is almost everyone) - some people get by and dont pull over when there is 7 cars lined up for tickets... but wow... it almost causes so many accidents when they do that.

not to mention they ding you for going 50-60km over the limit... which a lot of ppl end up losing their license for "reckless driving".
