my concerns about warranty issues.

hey guys,
i currently have intake and header on my 8
and about a month ago, my 2nd gear started giving me some problem such as grinding and unable to engage to gear properly.
I was pretty much worried about warranty issue so i hesitated to go into dealership and now the problem is getting worse and worse.
changing intake and header would break transmission warranty too?
and if they see intake and header, would they void my powertrain warranty?
i miss shifting up to 9000rpm on first gear...

Is it a Mazdaspeed intake? If it is then it wouldn't void the warranty...Mine was dealer installed when I first bought my car so I'm not sure what your case would be....

If not then I'm not to sure...

I'm not sure what kind of a relationship you have with your dealer.......I have asked mine about waranty issues and he agrees that common sense applies. An intake or exhaust, will not cause tranny problems, but it might affect your cat if you tried to claim it on warranty. Another comment he made was 'If Mazda Canada has a problem with it.....we will just take it off and put the OEM back on'

How many km's are on your car?
Is the transmission fluid getting old? Shift quality on my car changed drastically based on the age and quality of the fluid.

What it will come down to is how much of a dink your dealer is.
