MazCan web site still reporting original HP numbers
I just check the MazCan web site and it is still showing 247 HP for the 6MT and 207 HP for the 4AT. Does this mean that the Canadian cars are not affected by the lower HP claims that are reported by Mazda in the States? :D
Or is it that MazCan is just slow to react and wishful thinking on my part.

Mazda Canada has 1 web designer and he probably took Friday off.
No kidding, I asked about the owners page and was told THE web guy was working on it and planned to finish by the end of August.
I'm sure it will get changed, or you have wishfull thinking. I wouldn't mind terribly if they lowered the power, I'd get the free service that would be nice.

little off topic - do you know if Canadian RX-8 owners will be offered the compensation for sure?
does this mean i have room to bargain the price down from MSRP?
my dealer laughed at me when i asked if there was any room before the horsepower numbers and dynos were revealed.
he already gave me a sweet deal on my trade in ('99 1.8L Protege), but i honestly feel a little gyped by Mazda and want as much off the sticker price as possible.

Honestly imo if the power is also down in the Canadian models around 180whp and a 14.9-15.1 1/4 mile time then the base model at $38,000 without sunroof or leather is overpriced imo. With those hp/performance numbers it's now in the RSX-S/Accord V6 coupe MT territory.. At least before with 247hp/14.4 1/4 mile it was close to the S2000/350Z performance for less money.
Pete, dyno your car! :p

(If you go to the MazdaMaker menu selection, you can still spec an RX-8, but it doesn't have any specifications linked)

I mentioned in the other thread but the page is still there, just not on the main page:
