They will have to beat the AEM, which gains nearly nothing on its own, but can account for 12 or so with the right exhaust and tuning.
They won't.
The MAF tube needs to be as straight as possible (their bend isn't an issue, I don't think), with no transitions in size a MINUMUM of 3" to either side of the MAF itself. 6" is best.
They need at least one flow corrector (screen) and the inside diameter of the tube needs to be 3.375 inches.

Because that "little hole" is supplying air from the front of the car. Any air coming in through that hole is going to be at ambient temperature. And, colder than the air in the engine compartment.

the MS/AEM gains 0whp on it's own...then from what I understand from MM when it's tuned with the AP with the MS/AEM and you remove the MS/AEM you lose 12whp...
but I don't think there is anyone that has dynoed on the same car a tune for the stock airbox vs a tune for the MS/AEM and see the difference.
That's where the difference should be found tuned whp...
But it would make sense the AEM/MS would be able to gain the most power as it is actually sucking air from the outside (where the filter is) and not just a tube.
Although I imagine the RB ram air might be able to do something similar? I'm not sure. So far there isn't any real proof any intake does much...so much more testing should be done.
Things are going good
Hi guys
Sorry I haven't talked too much on this thread, I was away in Reno\Vegas last week and really didn't have a chance to drive much since I got back, until today.
So far the new intake is running great.
- The engine feels really smooth through the whole RPM range.
- It feels like there's better pickup (I realize that's a bit subjective)
- No CEL or the like being thrown
- Best of all it sounds amazing. It's quite at idle and normal driving and when you push it it has a nice deep sound
As for gains we don't know yet but we're headed to the Dyno on the 29th . I know it's a bit of wait but PRM is going to be testing a bunch of new intakes around that time.
Post here or message me if you have any questions.

dyno #
sorry for the long wait, we dyno'd the car this week.
here are the numbers, yet to recieve the graph via e-mail should have it up by
the weekend.
this was performed on a stock rx-8.
stock intake whp = 168.5
prm intake whp = 171.54
stock intake wheel torque =132.09
prm intake wheel torque =135.45
3 whp & 3 ft torque increase.
note: not a big gain but the rpm's climb faster & it sound great.
i have the first 5 kits coming in about 2 or 3 weeks,i'm going to offer them exclusively to local community.
if your intereseted call me.

run #8 is with the PRM system & #9 is with the stock system.
keep in mind that it's a gain of 3 PEAK whp, but if you look at some sections of this graph there is about
10 whp in the higher rpm's range, the shop sent me the speed( mph) graph, i'll get the rpm graph next week some time.that way you can see it in rpm's.

Hey guys
Sorry about the late post. Just wanted to confirm Gerry's (Jetstreamer) post. They kit was installed on my car and I was at the dyno run. Those are definitely the right numbers. I should let everyone know that the car was a bone stock 2004 the only change was the intake.
Other than that the kit sounds great and I think they got a sound clip of it. I'd been driving around with it for almost a month with no problems. It looks awesome and is straight forward to install. I'm betting Gerry will let you guys pick it up from him if you don't want it shipped, it'll save you time and money. If you have any questions let me know.
Kadavr:
I'm pretty sure the dip in the graph is from the TCS. I saw the break lines come on for a quick second. We had it turned off but as you know even when it says it's off it will still kick in under extreme circumstances (like running on a dyno). I've heard about holding the DCS off button for 20 secs or so to turn it fully off but that wasn't done.
As for an RPM graph I don't have one but I can tell you peak power was made somewhere just over 8000.

droob as far as I know holding down the dsc button turns all the electronic assistance systems off (someone correct me if I am wrong). So did it go off in every run, do the other graphs have the same drop? It be good to get some ideas why it's happening, maybe have some other more knowledgeable users comment on this, although they probably don't check out the Canadian section too often...
This should be tested against the MS CAI. If it is the same, I'm sure these will sell more since they are cheaper, and you don't have to take off the front bumper. If the creators wanna do a test, let me know, I have the MS CAI and would be interested in finding out.
