In your case unfortunately because you are the second owner of the vehicle and you purchased the vehicle last year, we want to see if the vehicle was well maintained previously. Since you do not have a way of retreiving the previous owner's service records then you're only other option is to authorize the dealer to perform and engine tear down to determine if the vehicle was well maintained. The engine tear down would be at your cast and there is a risk that we determine that the engine was not well maintained. However if the dealer can see a defect then you would be reimbursed for the repairs.
