They are not illegal. Dealers carry them, specifically for an RX-8 (I just got a call this morning that mine just came in). You have to make sure that you either get LED bulbs or stealth bulbs that will illuminate amber. You can't have white illumination and I think that's what would make them illegal. I will be ordering my LED bulbs today - look clear but illuminate amber.

At the same time, I might also replace all the amber bulbs around to clear LED with amber illumination. LED bulbs should last forever.

Good answer. I think sometimes we tend to over analyze things and just throw few numbers around. But, when it comes to deal making, things turn out a bit different.
