Well, when I went to school (don't you just love these) I was one of the lucky ones with a car; a 12 year old civic that was missing first gear and was hanging together with duct tape (black...went with the yellow better!).

My bud had an Omni that was so decrepit that its steering wheel rim broke off and he drove around holding on to the spokes...like it was a figher plane!

It was either this or take multiple busses, no fancy sportscars involved!

...still bitter!
