i have searched around this site and on the web to no avail.

Is there any reason why we Canadians cant get a black or silver 8 GT with a red/black interior. This would be ideal. Im just not sold on the brown.

silver with red would would be nice, even better the '05 white with red....

I saw a Red 8 with red/black interior at the neighborhood Co-Op yesterday (SE Calgary). I was trying to find the owner since it isn't a regular option in Canada. My guess is that he/she ordered the seats aftermarket (expensive, but it look soooooo much nicer).

nope red coloured cars have the option IN canada of getting a red and black interior! silvers get the option also

Still nope!

In Canada - the GS (Base package) comes with the black cloth interior, for all exterior colours.

The GT package has no interior colour choices - there are NO colour options, just whatever Mazda Canada has decided to offer.

ALL the Red GTs have the black/red leather interior.
The Black and Titanium Gray GTs only have the black/tan leather interior.
The Blue, Yellow, Silver GTs only have the all-black leather interior. (Silver can't have the black/red leather interior in Canada).

Nope, nowhere close! :p The red/black interior isn't an option, it's the standard GT interior on the Red, and the ONLY one available on the red. It is NOT available at all on the Silver!

It's OK HitMaNN, genuine cool guys aren't afraid to admit when they're wrong! :D

Black with tan accents is acceptable, but grey with tan is not! This is the number one reason I'd dismiss titanium grey as an option for me.

Black/red interior is the only option for all RX-8s except Silver, which gets the black-only interior.

We were talking about GTs, though, as I wasn't interested in the GS.

Actually Gordo, the color is black/chaparral (to be fair, Mazda seem to have dumped "chaparral" for "taupe" - what's next, "puce"?).

JohnnyG - IMHO, bad decision on eliminating Ti grey with black/tan. This is what I drive. The most common compliment I receive from passengers is the interior color palette. I was nervous about it when I ordered my 8 last year not having actually seen the vehicle. I am very happy with the interior color combination.

i think the black and chapparal looks the best with a Black or Titanium exterior. It has a sophisticated/sporty appeal. The red and black is kinda loud with a juvenile appeal (no offense to those with that combo... just my personal opinion)

I could have been my car you saw there. I live im the south, I have seen others post saying that they have a red in calgary, but the only others i have seen were a yellow, blue and Ti.

Gotta agree with you on the interior colour of Black/chaparral....I initially did not like it with the Titanium exterior, but it has really grown on me over the last year.

And once again Gord is correct about the "interior colour choices". There are none!!! You get them as ordered by Mazda Canada product planning (confirmed by my wife who works for their advertising agency and spoke to the director of product planning at MCI). Black/red is only offered on the red exterior...and so on as Gord described.

BTW, Mazda Canada have put together two very good packages for the Canadian market (GS & GT). In the US there are more option packages, but the base model comes with 16" wheels and without the sport suspension/brakes package.
There was another post that did a comparative CDN$ vs. US$ cost analysis of the G35 and RX-8. As you can see from the numbers, we get all the goodies in the Canadian GT for a very reasonable price! If that limits my interior colour choice, then I can live with that.
