I has an RX8 *update w/pics*

Picked it up yesterday 07 GT Phantom Blue (AT). Probably paid a bit on the high end as it seems very difficult to get a good deal in Edmonton.
Total Price: $43751.50

Congrats on the purchase! Phantom Blue is beautiful. Do you have the light interior?

Did you consider buying one in Ontario? You might have saved some $$ Oh well, too late now. Enjoy the car.

Do you plan to do any modifications? Post some pictures please!

Welcome and congrats. As long as you're ok with the price that's all that matters.

Well if he bought one in ON, he would have had to pay 8% PST (I believe it's zero in Alberta)

Congrats on the new purchase and welcome!! But for a mere 5k more in the U.S., you could have bought a base Corvette.

Wouldn't he have to buy it cash? I don't think the dealer can finance if you're from another country. Also you have to deal with the hassle of bringing it over and adding DRL's.

DarkBrew: Black Leather. I believe there is no choice with the Phantom Blue. Buying in Ontario I don't think would have saved me anything factoring in PST and inconvince.

mmats69: Might seem strange but I really wasn't interested in a Corvette or any other vehicle for that matter in a comparable price range. I got the vehicle I wanted. The next step up in vehicles for me would be in the Austin Martin price range. I did consider going to the US to purchase the RX8 as im sure I could have saved a considerable ammount but again the hassel just wasn't worth it for me imo.

I'll get some pics up later today but nothing out of the ordinary yet

Same here. Test drove the C5 and RX-8 on the same day, bought the RX-8 even though I was prepared to go with the C5. I wanted a car with steering feel and road feel, the C5 had neither. Sexy-looking car though.

Ah yes... the new name for an old paint scheme.
They added a tiny bit more blue into the hue, but otherwise you can easily call the colour Montego blue!

Saw the colour in the lot a couple of months back. I thought Mazda would be reintroducing the colour. When I asked the sales guy what colour it was, he told me it was "Phantom Blue". Funny how colours seem to make a return later in the marquee's palette...

Keep an eye out for cops... they tend to pull people over with colours that change depending on lighting conditions...

Lates,

Sounds about right if that's mixed highway/city driving. If that's all city then you're pretty lucky (or drive like grandma :-P)
never been to Edmonton though. Is there a lot of stop and go traffic in the city?

I like those little bumps on the front bumper right underneath the headlights. They give it a little "je ne sais quoi" What are they for anyway?

Ontario owners are jealous of you not having to have a front plate!! Congrats on your purchase.
