ON I bought an R1 today so the 8 might have to go

Here is the dilemma i think i need to sell the 8 and get a pick up truck for work and to take the bike to the track. I think its inevitable that my time owning an rx-8 is coming to a pre-mature end. Depressing. in the 2 years i have owned my 03 build date i have had the best and worst moments in a car. from a new engine compliments mazda followed by 2 cats and an o2 sensor all no charge. the rear ending that left 2 screw marks in my bumper and got me a whole new rear end thru insurance ( not at fault :D ) got the tranny rebuilt with a sick act clutch. it was a part of my life not just an a - b or a grocery getter and it will be missed. i have a seibon oem hood, tanebe nf springs, and an hks racing suction intake that i could part with separate or leave in the car. not looking to ad my car thru this post just wanted to hear from my fellow rotary friends, any comments / advise / similar stories would be a good mood lightener for my change of life. thanks for all the helpful diy's and tuning tips ive leached off this site and i wish the best to all the 8 owners in this world!

The bike makes me view the world different.... blurred. its insane ive been on 600's and my brother had a busa that felt insane but this bike just leaves anything standing still. 2002 with larger injectors power commander headers exhaust ohlins steering damper the list goes on but the main thing is it dyno's just under 180hp im almost riding a stock 8 hahaha life is good right now i own 2 bikes and an rx8 but i know this will soon change. sorry bout the rx-7 confusion i didnt tie 2 and 2 together on this one...

congrats on the R1... and, sorry to hear u'll have to sell the 8...

i'm hoping to upgrade my 6R to an R6 in a few years down the road too- being i'm still a newbie rider.. that said, tho, riding and driving are both fun to me. granted, i'm no expert at either one- and don't claim to be. but, there are things about driving the canyons in the rx-8 that gets my heart pumping. and, i would never give that up. track or no track. but, that's just me...

since we're on the subject, saw a moron on a ninja pop a wheelie on the freeway doing 75+ yesterday wearing nothing but helmet, t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. after he popped the wheelie, his left shoe lace got stuck in the shifter/ foot peg and he was struggling untangling it... ******* idiot- not to mention giving all sport riders a bad name...

^maybe the fact that you can slide off the canyon is what gets your heart pumping? LOL... I know what you mean though.... its like riding a snow sled down a mountain.. always fun.

the r6 is an amazing bike ive ridden a few, they feel so light and agile. we dont have any canyon roads really here but i can not picture what life is going to be like not being able to open all the windows crank the system and cruise the 8 thru the forks of the credit one of the best scenic roads i have experienced. lots of twist and turns cut in next to a river no huge intimidating drop but alot of tight sections. i feel like i just might be coming back to an 8 when i settle down with a truck thats paid off. i like the 09's body work and i cant help considering how fun an rew swap would be single turbo'd in it.

So disappointed i also thought it was a R1 RX7. A buddy of mine has one and the suspension it comes with is soooo low. Probably like 1.5 inch of clearance.
