Hi, I am thinking about getting an 8 in June but I was wondering how long before I should go to order one. I know Canada is getting them in limited numbers. Are there any honest dealers lurking on the board who can give me an honest answer. And also, is it possible to order one from the factory in Canada, and again how long before should I?

i'm not a car dealer - just a prospective RX-8 buyer.

best thing to do is to go to your local dealer and put down a deposit for an RX-8 and tell them when you want it by.

i was told by someone on the board that the 2005 model year won't start until late summer of next year.

don't think it's possible to "order" an RX-8 for this year cuz the cars for Canada are just shipped to the dealers and the dealers just go down their wait list asking if the person wants the car.

I put an order down in January 2003 for delivery in May 2004 since I did not want to drive it in the winter.

I expect that that the May 2004 date will be firm since I gave them so much warning.

 

The first dealer I went to didn't have any RX-8's coming in and they said it would be Apr/May if I ordered one. I went to another dealer and they had the exact model and color I wanted coming in somtime in December and it wasn't spoken for, so I put down my deposit.

 

where you located?

i know of a buybacked yellow 6-speed with a few thousand KMs for sale here in the west coast! Discounted of course!

i'm not a dealer but i know someone who can help you if you live in Vancouver or Richmond!

 

I am located in the Toronto area. Basically I want to order in March and have in come in by June. Do any dealers know (honestly) if this will be enough time/have enough cars coming in at the time.
