Well Lads after reading your posts I'm somewhat reluctant to Buy a RX8!
WTF? Should I stay or should I Go?

Decided this week to narrow my search and buy a RX8. Now maybe I'll stick to my second choice and buy a G35!

Really the RX8 is my preferred choice but these engineering short-comings are unexceptable.

Your opinions on how I should proceed are welcomed.

Thanks!

I was just curious that after an engine replacement, is there a warranty on the engine?

I recently came across an RX8 that has 105k on it, with a factory replaced engine at 78k (tail end of his warranty)

Obivously now he has no bumper to bumper, but i was wondering is there still a warranty on the engine itself??

Any input would be greatly appreciated....

Well you started reading a thread asking if any canadian engines have been replaced. It has "yes" answers. What did you expect?

Could this be because of improper oil?

Please be aware that there is an investigation going on regarding the mandatory RX8 Oil class which is 5W 20 in North America. The investigation is reviewing the different Oil classes used by the rest of the world for this car. We want to know why 10W 30 Oil class is the official oil class for 70% of other countries outside of US and Can.

5W 20 seems to be more inclined to slower cooler engines. I'd like to get some of your opinions, because if the oil is recommended based on other factors besides what is best for the rotary engine, we are seriously interested in knowing if 5W 20 causes engine damage.

From the sounds of it, yes its possible.

But that is not fact, it is speculation. Does anyone here, hear about this?

Thanks
