Fooking Canada Customs

Alright, in 24 hours I got hit with 75, 50, 31 CDN for items shipped from USA.

WAT THE FAK!

Granted, I am still overjoyed seeing they are all here finally...cant wait to put them on.

I thought making them as "gifts"/"toys" with value <200 will do better. Apparently I am wrong...

Customs are an evil evil bitch. I know way to many horry stories of people marking "gifts" or installing items in the USA and driving back across

a lot of what you pay is bokerage fees......but there are always fees.....when I had my car completely done up...before parting out...I must have paid 500+ in fees with all the parts I bought...one package from mazdatrix ( one box with a lot of parts ) cost me 250 in fees.....granted the package was worth 1400 dollars....but yeah..they are a bitch!!!

My bro shipped up stuff here for his car saying the item was a demo, cost $1, no duty was charged. However, if something happens to it your loss.

If possible have them ship USPS.

UPS and Fedex will rape you on tax and brokerage fees.

USPS priority you can ensure your package and half the time if not more it'll go right through customs with no tax and no fees.

I just got a box from Arizona, Motor Mounts for a friend (H22 in 3rd gen prelude solid mounts) heavy ****.

Insured for 500$, got to my door, no tax, no fees.

Just for clarification, you didn't get "hit" by USPS you payed what was owned in taxes.

UPS and FEDEX hit you with brokerage fees + taxes. I.E if you had that item shipped by UPS you would have probably been billed between 100-150 dollars on the same 500 dollar item.

When possible, always have items shipped via USPS.

United States Postal Service... you're sure ?

UPS will always rape you. the brokerage fees are UNreasonable.

USPS at worst will tax you what you are supposed to pay in taxes and most times it goes under the radar.

so with USPS at worst you are charged what you are required to pay legaly, no more.

FedEx ground is nasty too. They'll clear the custom on your behalf with no delay. You get your package right away with no tax bill on delivery. A month later they send you an invoice for their "service" plus the full tax owing.

It's USPS or nothing.
