floor mat question

I just bought an 05 GT and I love but I noiced the strangest thing.
the drivers side floor mat has a small ring in it, to hold it down to the floor.
But there is no small post to loop it over....nothing there at all.
what is this all about???
it bothers me cause the floor mat is always slipping forward!!
is my car missing this option?
it is the loaded model (no nav) any help to understand this would be great.
Thanks

There should be a little bracket that gets bolted to the floor just behind the bump under the front drivers side seat. This bracket is what that ring hooks over.

When I bought my car they hadn't installed the little post. It was just sitting in my glove box. I still haven't installed it. You'll probably need to pick one up from the dealer.

There is a small hook under the driver's seat... you can probably pick one up from Mazda for cheap.

Thanks for reminding me to buy new floor mats!

It's not put on at the factory so some dealerships can charge you for the floormats that get shipped from the factory with every car. If it isnt in the glove box then the dealer has it.
