ExoticSpeed RII-Titan Catback

Hey everyone,

I've been looking into this catback system recently and is curious if anyone know who or where I can get this catback?

I know Dan@Assaultech was the person who used to distribute these exhaust systems, but I don't see his vendor here anymore. I also read somewhere that this person was part of a scam? I don't know...

In any case, does anyone know any other way I can look into getting this catback? I can only find the RI-Titan catback from the ExoticSpeed website, not the RII model.

Cheers!

It was the sound that it produced that stood out to me. From the videos I have watched it sounded very crisp, and not raspy. And to be honest, I first saw the picture of the exhaust system on Carbon8's RX-8 build. In any case, I know that the R1 model can be found on the ExoticSpeed website; and I was unable to find any difference - in terms of the sound and tone - between the R1 with the R2 model.

On top of that, I personally liked the design of the exhaust too. It actually reminded me of the RE-Amemiya Super Dolphin catback system.

I have also looked into the M7 Titan catback system (found on JM Autosport website here), and also liked the design of it.

Now, I am definitely open to suggestions. I don't have much technical knowledge about factors determines a good from a bad exhaust system. Having said that, what I do look for are ones that seems to have relatively straight-er pipes, because my understanding is that it provides less resistance to exhaust flow.

Anyways, I'm up for suggestions, and comments and ideas.

Well first off, don't go by sound based off of internet videos. They never sound as good in person.

I have installed this exhaust on two cars and it sounded okay (but still raspy IMO) on buddies car with the BHR resonated midpipe but sounds like *** on my other buddies car with a RP midpipe. Also, don't get it if it has the resonator in the straight section because it defeat the purpose of a 3" exhaust because the resonator steps down the pipe size. Also the bolt on tips were nice but never really sat right no matter how you adjusted them. IIRC some people had to bang on them to get them right. For the money it's just not worth it. It's a nice exhaust but not so nice that it justifies a price of more than double say a Turbo XS cat back.

And while this looks pretty sitting out, it will look like **** after a couple of months driving.

Thank you! Can you also elaborate on the resonator statement you mentioned earlier? Or at the very least, give me a few exhaust systems that has what is most efficient resonator design? I would like to do some more research.

I really appreciate all your help and explaination!

Why don't you just get the re-amemiya super dolphin system? Best sounding exhaust ever. You won't regard it.

Haha, actually I have thought about that to be honest! It seems really expensive though...unless maybe if I order it directly from RE-Amemiya?

Any suggestions and/or ideas?

It sounds okay, my buddy had it, nothing special and I personally don't like the looks of the tips.

I have a contact that has an account with re-amemiya. With oversea purchases re-amemiya will actually not sell to unknown vendors or individuals. That's why you don't see too many re-amemiya replica around.

re-amemiya made 3 version of the dolphin exhaust all with the same tip, different muffler and piping...intended for 3 differ market. (street, race, quiet down version)

We have a guy in Toronto that is running a full re-amemiya race setup from header to exhaust. Happy to come out and share our knowledge.

Wow, that is really awesome to hear! I would love to come out and chit-chat too!

I have actually been looking into the AD Facer Ver.2 front bumper too.

Do you have any clips of the street and quiet-down version of the exhaust system?

When do you guys usually meet up? I will need to find a time where I can come out with my wife - we do everything together. Lol!
