Dunlop Winter SP M3 or Hankook IceBear W300?

So, I called around and the 2 dealerships in my area are offering these 2 winter tires.

Dunlop Winter Sport M3: 215/55/17
Hankook IceBear W300: 225/50/17

The prices are approx the same for both. The diffference might be a few odd $$$.

So, from your experience, which tires are better for the Canadian winter in GTA?

Any and every advise will be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Dunlops are great in the winter! I have a set that I used last winter. My dad's M3 also has them! Coindentally, I'm selling my OEM wheels and tires (as a set) as I'm going to be storing my car starting this winter. If you're interested, let me know!!

I have the Icebears ... just swapped to my winters yesterday. Decent tires ... no problems with them after 2 winters.

The M3's might have an edge because they are thinner. I seem to remember the 225 for the Icebears being the only ones available.

its interesting to note that the Hankook's have gone with a similar tread pattern as the nokian. the new i*pike hankooks are almost identical to my old Nokian Haakapallita RSi's...those were just about the best snows i've ever used.

The hankook has a slightly different tread pattern and compound softness, but even the holes for the studs are the same lol. crazy asians and their knockoffs

The tirerack usually has write up and reviews on winter tires. I found it to be a good site for info.
